why did moses put the begats in the bible?

Question

is it a guid for us to keep up with the time? if so why would he want us to keep up with the time.
or is it there just to let us know who is kin to who?

what is your thoughts on it?

what i mean by begats is each persons genealogy. you know who was whos father or son or brother, and how old this person was when their child was born and so on. it has nothing to do with who traslated it.

My thoughts are he didn't, and the bible is written in English using thee, thou, begat, etc. That is why it is know as the Kings James version. If what he said were written in his language, we would more than likely not be able to understand it, as these books have been translated by the Jews.
