If so can some Christians explain Job Chapter 38

31Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?

32Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season?

What are we talking about here? Well in verse 31 we're talking about CONSTELLATIONS, the Pleiades, and Orion. The Mazzaroth in verse 32 is none other than the ZODIAC, which is ASTROLOGY.

The entire bible is based upon basic astrology, and astronomy. Christmas day is nothing more than the day the SUN begins its return to the northern hemisphere.

So if astrology, and the studying of the stars is forbidden, then why is every "holy day," and the book itself based upon it as well?

Read very carefully:

Isa 47:12 ¶ Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.

Isa 47:13 Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. ***Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from [these things] that shall come upon thee.***

Isa 47:14 ***Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: [there shall] not [be] a coal to warm at, [nor] fire to sit before it.****

Just because something is mentioned by name in the Bible doesnt mean that God approves of it!

BTW Christmas is NOT a Christian observance. It is pagan catholicism. NOWHERE in all of Scripture will you find anyone celebrating the annual birthday of Christ.

It forbids Astrology, or using the starts to predict the future
or perform magic. Not Astronomy, which is just the study of the
night sky.

The Bible speaks about the proper and improper use of signs in the heavens.

Genesis 1:14 Then God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years;
15 and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was so.
16 God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also.
17 God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth,
18 and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good.

Several functions of lights in the heavens are mentioned here. Let's focus on one of them, "Let them be for signs". What kind of signs?

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.

The signs in the heavens show the glory of God. How literally should we take that?
____

Matthew 2:1 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem,
2 saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

The heavens declared the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
_____

When Jesus was on the cross bearing the wrath of God for the sins of the world, it suddenly went dark in the middle of the day for three hours, from noon to 3 pm.

Matthew 27:45 Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land.

The heavens declared Jesus' crucifixion and death.
_______

The heavens will declare when Jesus Christ returns to reign in glory.

Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
_______

The heavens declare the glory of God. But the astrologer says that the heavens don't tell about God, they tell about you and me. And that angers God. This is the astrology God disapproves of.

Why dig so deep?

Genesis 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

Note that signs are listed first.

Erm.. three WISE men( read wizards, sages, seers, astrologers etc.)followed a STAR..... they were reading the heavens.. That's astrology.
Priests/churches tried to keep such knowledge to themselves by claiming exclusive right to know the 'mysteries' of the universe. Demonising such information made people easier to control and persecute.

That's very interesting actually. I'm interested in studying religion in depth, and its origins down the ages. I hope you don't mind but i posted a similar question, after searching for myself but it seems very few know about this.

You see this is where Christians, catholics really surprise me.

I guess the three wise men found their way to Mary and Joesph by following the Yellow Brick road??

People please read and then reread and judge for yourself.
God will not send you to hell for opening your minds.

Way to go Billdo : )

Come on at times it sound like my kid...one way this time another way at another time.

I guess the wise men are going to hell..but then again I guess not they would have nothing to warm them.

What can I say your into it I am not
