that we atheists come to R&S because we're looking for God, or that we're lost and want to get on the path?

I mean, I know that is said jokingly here and there, but does anyone actually think this? I'd like to hear your thoughts.

I am Christian but I hate how the world seems brainwashed on their thoughts. Growing up I have so many different religions in my family. I am Eskimo, Cherokee, Egyptian and so many other things and my family grew up telling me stories and all kinds of things. In the end I chose to be Christian but im sure that my son will choose Christianity because that is the church I attend but what is so wrong about teaching a child world religions. I have had many a debate with my boyfriends family about it.

And dont say that I shouldnt lie to my child because Christians lie to their children all the time and allow their religion to be commercialized and our savior to be recessed. Im not saying all Christians but a majority do.

I need a healing prayer for my feet. I can't work 2 days in a row. I have to work one day and take the next day off..and I spend my off days in bed because I can't stand up and walk. I have to crawl to the bathroom, and around the house.

I don't get it. Period. I just don't understand. Religion is the core of most of the problems we have today. From extremist Arabs blowing themselves up in the name of Allah to even local places where extremist come around to your house and try to convert you. People will not hear anyhting against religion, and won't listen to logic unless it favors their point. I am willing to listen though. If some religious person can give me a point on religion and what it is really about without some crap about having faith and Jesus, I will listen. I am about to get attacked by extremist religious people. Let the mudslinging begin

Im not one to delve into abortion a whole lot. But I was thinking about the actual process. Not the machines, sterile environment, etc. But a baby; the beginnings of life growing in a woman's body...I'm not looking at the "im a woman, I have a choice argument, or the Im not ready to have children argument, but from a biological, female and natural position, doesnt it seem like the antithesis of what is supposed to be? Women are bringers of life, its a beautiful thing. Doesnt it seem bizaare to be a part of that beauty and to throw it away? Thoughts?

Why do you feel compelled to tell us what we should do?
So you will go to heaven and we will go to hell!
Why the **** do you care?
Let us go to hell it is our choice!

And provide dates and a link if possible?

I am talking about violence that is religiously motivated

And I am talking actual violence not "offensive language" or a protest or saying something you didn't like, but actually physically hurting, killing, robbing etc. someone.

for me, its the following:

1.) when people put "Atheist", or "Atheism, the Logical Choice" as a source. I mean, what the he11 kind of source is "Atheist". i just get annoyed by it

2.) that stupid thing where people say "drink" and get 10 thumbs up for it. Its totally retarted and a waste of space on an answer.

3.) Even though I'm christian, I hate asking a question and having a ton of scripture that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING at all to do with the question. I mean, I apprecieate the meaning behind it, but it wasnt what I was trying to look for at the very moment.

Women who don't do physically harmful things, such as smoking or drugs, and are very careful about their pregnancies and pray to the Christian God, suffer miscarriages every single day.

If 'God' is omnipotent, then he's the most prolific abortionist of all time. Agreed?

Before you ask me if I have, no, I haven't, and I honestly can't give a good reason why I haven't.

i think it does. its a scientific fact that sperm is alive. and i believe that doctors and law makers are wrong to allow abortions. if they don't want to get pregnant then don't have sex. if you do any way give the child up for adoption. killing it should not be a option. but this is just my opinion and not part of the question

can you tell me what verse in the bible tells man not to spill his seed upon the ground?

I'm curious to see which direction Christianity/Atheism conversions tend to go and why. If you used to be one, and now you're the other, tell us which and what was it that made you begin to change you way of thinking.

Yes, it's an excellent Metallica song, but this is actually a question. Throughout my life I've struggled. Struggled to love. I strongly appreciate what my parens and relatives have done for me. Yet, I'm always so bitter. I often find myself forcing love. I have to force myself to love my parents and friends. Not because I feel that love, but because I feel that I'm supposed to love them. It's what everyone else does, so I guess I should do it too. Was I just destined for the dark side or is there something I'm missing?

What if you live a humble, simple life. You go to work everyday, you are happy, you have many wonderful friends, a large loving family, you never commit any crimes, you help the poor, you excersise, eat healthy and donate your time and money to charities...and yet..you are an atheist because you dont accept Jesus in your heart. Your telling me this person has no chance of living an eternity with God, should he really exist?
