"Jesus said, 'If you wish to be perfect, go and sell what you own and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.'" - Matthew 19:21

Before you ask me if I have, no, I haven't, and I honestly can't give a good reason why I haven't.

if we are going to read this letter as it is we are all going to fail right? the whole story was a richman come to Jesus and asked Jesus "how can i be in the kingdom of heaven?" and then Jesus said "did you obey all the commandments?" richman say yes. now the verses said Jesus said, 'If you wish to be perfect, go and sell what you own and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.'" - Matthew 19:21. Why Jesus ask that Question? The richman thought that with his all riches he can go to heaven and seems he bragged his riches+Jesus knew no one can ever perfect the law of moses and his lying about it. guess what the richman say, turn around and go back home. Jesus knew that the reachman cannot leave his reaches to become poor and he is not ready for his salvation.

I would hazard a guess that most christians justify not following what is a fairly clear, unambiguous instruction from their god on the grounds that he didn't really mean what he said and he actually meant somethign different, which is how religion works - it adapts to fit around the real world.

They treasure their possessions more highly than their religion and so will alter their faith to fit around their lifestyle. And deep down, of course, they probably don't really believe in heaven.

God doesnt want you to give all your welath away.Jesus was making the point of not putting personal possesions more highly than God. In other words dont be attached to them. He also said after that " it would be easier to fit a cammel through the eye of a needle that for a rich man to get into heavin"

first of all they do no longer recognize what to evangelise. They recognize the thanks to ask you to their church, or argue over scripture. they do no longer recognize Jehovah or Jesus. They absolutely do no longer have Jehovah's holy spirit now to not teach recognize what the dominion extremely is or that Jesus is the King now reigning. they ought to leave the preaching paintings to those who recognize what they are doing and are being educated to evangelise. As one said, the churches won't be able to agree on something. Jehovah isn't a God of bewilderment yet an prepared God. They examine the bible yet do not comprehend the bible. Jehovah has no longer opened himself to them.

Jesus was talking to a particular man with particular circumstances when He spoke those words - not Mr. Everyman in general.

2Cr 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, [so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

12My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command.

that was to one man who wanted to be a desciple but put money first. money is not evil it is the love of money that makes us sinners, we ca have money if we use it to God's glory not worship it.

Apparently Christ was talking to a rich young ruler who claimed to have kept all the commandments. I am neither rich, nor young , nor a ruler, nor have I kept any of the commandments. So how does this apply to me or to any of us?

Was Christ addressing all Christians, or was he talking to one person?

This is like saying we should all sacrifice our first born sons, seeing as God commanded Abraham to do so.
