I recently joined a collective called 'join me' who perform random acts of kindness, at least once a week, to someone else, for absolutely no personal gain whatsoever. We call them GOOD FRIDAYS. Hey, you can join too!

Didn't he teach that we will be "blessed" (set aside for Heaven) if we follow his teachings of how to care about each other and get along with each other?

When Jesus said "I am the way", do you really think he meant his sacrificial body or his "teachings" which he spent his whole life doing.

(Prescription: Read only Jesus' sermons, parables, and advice for 1 week. Then you might be shocked by all the things Paul "made up" about what he thought Jesus meant.)

Does any Christian have experience with the challenges of birthing prophetic gifts?

If this is true then god has pre-planned every abortion...and the mother and doctor who agreed with this abortion are just puppets in gods major plan..

Exodus 12:29: At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well.

Sounds pretty messed up to me.

In this modern age, deciding what is and is not income is not always straightforward. I've got a couple questions about what constitutes income for the 10% tithe:

1) Do unrealized capital gains count as income? If so, how are those gains evaluated?

2) Does interest income, for example from bonds, count as income?

3) What about interest income that is automatically re-invested, for example in a bond fund?

4) Does income that occurs within a retirement account such as an IRA count as titheable income?

5) What if you run a business, and you have a choice about re-investing revenue into the business or paying it to yourself as income, does the requirement to tithe play a part in this decision (that is, if you reinvest in the business, you get less income and tithe less)?

6) What happens if you miscalculate, and your tithe is not 10% in God's eyes? Do you lose your place in Heaven? Does God let you know you've underpaid?

Why post questions like the one linked below? Do questions like this support Christian unity? You wonder why people hate Catholics and then you go and try to prove you are better than everyone else. Why? Do you think it makes Jesus happy?

remember studying the ancient greeks and indians? they had a god for sun, fire, water, agriculture..ect. the used this to explain the unexplained. a little after that time.. the relgion of jesus christ came about. the used this to explain why we're here on this earth. so simply, we came to know that there is no god of water. furthermore.. there is no god? science proved that clouds are in the sky.. and the earth has a core with lava.. so there is simply no god?

Please explain what you have experienced and the changes within you.

If you want some good books and writings on this, besides the Bibles of the major religions, you could peruse (deep and difficult) "Pensees" by Blaise Pascal, some of Charles Finney's writings, "Cosmic Consciousness" by Richard Bucke and especially good are Part V, chapters 8, 13, 29,30; "Varieties of Religious Experiences" by Willian James, and some of my more inspired posts on here or on my website

I am a Pagan from Indiana...and 2 men came up to my front door a little bit ago. I thought it was a couple of my friend's, so as soon as I opened the door I said "No company today guys, sorry" and it wasn't them! LOL

It was 2 Christian men that brought us a battery for our smoke detector! He say "Heres a battery for your smoke detector. Its time to change them. Also, heres a brochure about our church. You don't have to keep it if you don't want to."
I said "Thank you!!!" and shut the door. There was no preaching, no proselytizing, just good old fashion "neighboring ".

I am very happy they came to my house today though because I completely forgot that I needed to change the battery in my smoke detector! We don't have a lot of money as it is, so this was really nice of them to do this!

Why can't more Christians do more things like THIS, instead of preaching every time they come knocking on your door?

My wife and I are happier than any of our Mormon friends.

We are not married in your temple. But we love and serve and enjoy and cherish each other, every day.

Will God tear us apart? Will he take our precious kids and give them to others?

Please explain your beliefs about God in this regard, only,
please.
