Since Satan was banished to hell, wouldn't he constantly be trying to escape?

If he is, why doesn't he raise an army of the damned souls to attack god, instead of punishing him?

If his job is to punish sinners, wouldn't that put him under God's authority?

Pushing religion aside, why do people not believe in the King James Bible? If you take out all religious sects; islamists, christians, catholics, ALL OF THEM, none of which are specified in the bible, and you take them ALL OUT, and just take the word for what it is, why wouldn't anyone believe? I doubt the publishers of the KJB are getting royalties from the sales of the book. The cost of a bible can run you as low as $3. No one has anything to gain from having you read the bible. The bible is "just a book". So why do people shun away from it? Has anyone done this? And if you have, what did you get from it?

it just seems weird to me when i hear a christian say that slavery was an immutable part of human nature, so he didn't do anything because they wouldn't listen anyways.
I mean, god demanded death for working on the sabbath and many other things less sinful as taking someone and making them your slave for life.
If god tells you that working on the sabbath deserves death, yet says nothing about slavery being wrong, aren't you going to think that god doesn't condemn it?
As hard as i try, i cannot empathize with any apologetics i have heard on the topic. Are there any arguments i have not heard on this one?

Does it make Christians uncomfortable with the idea that heaven is seriously lacking in racial balance?

Hardly any Chinese, Japanese, Native Americans, Maori, or Indians? What about Ancient Greeks or Egyptians? How about everybody who lived in America prior to 1492?

If you went to heaven in the year 1500, it would be composed entirely of Europeans?

Face it we all are to a degree.
On a scale of 1-10 how judgemental are you.
And what things do have a tendancy to critisize the most?

another church, especially a Christian church?

Does that sound like Christian love? WWJD?

(legal disclaimer: ex-JW family must have been baptized as a Jehovah's Witness before leaving to join another church. also, "must not associate" means not eating with or socializing)

As in the instructions given by Jesus in Matthew 10:8-15:
You received without paying; give without pay. Acquire no gold nor silver nor copper for your belts, no bag for your journey, nor two tunics nor sandals nor a staff, for the laborer deserves his food. And whatever town or village you enter, find out who is worthy in it and stay there until you depart. As you enter the house, greet it. And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town. Truly, I say to you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.

Hello All!
I'm looking in the Bible for a verse. I don't know the reference or the exact words but I think it says something similar to this... "you should clear your heart and mind before you enter into my presence."
Please, if you have any idea let me know. And I will be checking the verses you give me to make sure you're not making it up. Ok?
Thanks! (:

I, as a Catholic, have seen many people try to discourage me from partaking in my religion. The atheists and agnostics only take notice of the few bad things, but what about all of the overwhelming positives?

We believe the earth is 6000-10000 years old.

We believe there was a Global Flood 4500 years ago and Noah’s Ark saved two animals of every kind.

We believe we were created and that we didn’t evolve.

We believe that the geologic stratums were ALL formed in the Great Flood. And that the “less evolved” life forms are at the bottom of the stratum because they ran slower or they didn’t float as well as the more “evolved” life forms we see today which are found at the top of the geologic column.

We believe that dinosaurs from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous geologic periods lived with people 6000 years ago along with all the other species that existed in tens of other geologic period (Precambrian, Devonian, Silurian etc). This means there were literally hundreds of billions of different species co-existing before the Flood killed most of them off.

This is the last one. Sorry but we Young Earth creationists believe A LOT!

So do you understand now, evolutionists? Stop criticizing!

When reading through the Gospels, it is hard not to notice this happening over and over again…for example:

And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed him, crying aloud, "Have mercy on us, Son of David." When he entered the house, the blind men came to him, and Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to him, "Yes, Lord." Then he touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith be it done to you." And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, "See that no one knows about it." But they went away and spread his fame through all that district.
-Matthew 9:27-31

Why did He warn and tell others not to share what He had done for them?

And why did the writers of the Gospels take the time to include this over and over in their historical accounts of Jesus?

Lol, im sorry im just wondering.
I always celebrate it, so do my parents, but my parents are both, well my dad believes in god but doesnt assign himself to any religion and my my mother is agnostic. Anyways, Christmas in our household is always a really big thing, but has never been a "Were celebrating jesus's birthday thing" considering ive been brought up with the whole idea that i can be whatever i feel like ( i have rather liberal parents ) Dont get me wrong, it isnt all about the gifts, its about having family and friends come together, we sing songs, its really not so superficial that we only care about the presents. I was just wondering if it really makes you a christian, even if you dont believe in that. It sounds dumb, i know, but im 15, therefore allowing myself to ask slightly dumb and juvenile questions. Kay, ill stop rambling now =P

1- 0%
2- 100%
3- 50%
4- 10%
????

Well the correct answer is 10% and just get yourself a red letter bible and see for yourself.... about 23 of the 27 books of the new testament actually contain words that were supposedly spoken by Jesus PBUH.

Now my question to you dear Christians is this... What do you really know about jesus (PBUH)??? His mission was only 3 years, his words are intermingled in the bible and taken out put back in...How do you know what he really said? How can you trust the source if it has been altered so much? how do you sleep at night? knowing that perhaps you might be wrong?
