My husband's vote is for "Peace Train" by Cat Stevens. I reminded him that it didn't have to have the word "peace" in the title to count, but he still says "Peace Train." :) Now he's saying "What's Goin' On" and "Inner City Blues" by Marvin Gaye (I knew this question would get him thinking, lol).

I suppose "Imagine" is one of the ones you just can't leave off the list. I wanna go through all of my CDs and find the perfect ones to be on the list, but it looks like people are giving some good answers already. Does "Conviction of the Heart" by Kenny Loggins count? It's gotta be the live version from the Redwoods or it really can't count. :)

Fun question!

Country Joe and The Fish - The Fish Cheer- I Feel Like I'm Fixing to Die and Eve of Destruction by Barry McGuire are my favorite anti-war songs.

My favorite "peace songs" are Imagine and Put a Little Love in Your Heart (the Annie Lennox - Al Green version) .

Imagine
John Lennon

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEOkxRLzBf0

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

I don't know the name but it starts off with "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me...." we sing it at church...I'll look for the name...

EDIT - it is simply called "Let there be Peace on Earth" Words and Music by Jill Jackson and Sy Miller

Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me
Let there be peace on earth
The peace that was meant to be
With God as Creator, family all are we
Let me walk with my family
In peaceful harmony
Let peace begin with me
Let this be the moment now
With every breath I take
Let this be my joyous vow
To take each moment and live each moment
In peace eternally
Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me
