I don't understand why religious people talk about the bible and God and jesus and all of the rest like it is a fact. Like you people know these things are true. I don't follow religion, but I don't know, so I admit I don't know what is right about religion or God or whatever. I don't see why religious people act like all of that is the truth.

If you believe in god, fine, just say you believe. Instead, I always her people say "well God told me this, and God says this is going to happen". Thats silly. No one knows the answer.

of cults. Did Jesus not warn us to be careful
of who we associate with, less we be dragged down along with them.
Should we be friends with those types of people, would it not be better to avoid them but still pray that they will wake up some day
to the truth.

Now i love my family and i don't want to let my family go but i have all these fears, and pain that i'm feeling that i want to let it go. I been reading the bible finding the answers in there for me and it has been helping me but then i have my moments that i am still going through anxiety. For some of you, this seems to be the only way to understand/accept the reality of AIDS. Please think carefully if you feel inclined to believe that AIDS is a plague on the gay community before you write. I would appreciate thoughtful answers. Of course, all are welcome to answer. Namaste!

okay so he told them not to eat the fruit right? okay but wasnt the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and bad? so isnt it possible that they couldve committed any other sin also because they didnt know it was bad? now I understand by knowing the difference between both would also help them in doing something bad but by knowing the difference, wouldnt they be able to tell what is good and what isnt?

so why did god punish them for not listening to him? how were they supposed to know it was "bad" until after they ate and realized that what they did was wrong? if they knew then I could understand, but they had no way of knowing until after eating the fruit.

OK, you have decided that you can tell me who God is. You the Devine 1; you the Chosen 1, you the mere mortal man that had an opportunity to consider your answer but whole-heartedly decided that you can not only tell me Gods name you can PROVE of its existence. In so doing you have just PREJUDICED about 30 other belief systems, have demonstrated a biggoted attitude of "I am right and they are wrong"; and have proved that you are nothing less than a disillusioned fool. You who would proudly announce the name of who your God is, have slapped more than a billion people in the face by making this statement that you have no ability to support or to prove. Do you wonder why your world is nothing but a mass of confusion? Because YOU not God have decided what IS God. Excuse me, by what authority to you speak? Because one thing I can demonstrate at this precise moment is that You who know Gods name don't know if you will even be alive 1 minute from now. Time seems to be GODS. Not yours. Get it?

Why are there so many theories of evolution, at least 6 of them. Then they compress all these stories and put them into our childrens textbook like it was just one theory. Nice and neat right?

How can these lies be taught in our schools?

Does anyone find this to be intellectually dishonest?

This is a poll about what you think the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) teaches. In your opinion, which statements are taught in the LDS church? Please state whether you are an active member of the LDS church or not. Thank you.

1. The way is prepared from the fall of man, and salvation is free.

2. There is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah.

3. It is only in and through the grace of God that you are saved, after you are reconciled to God.

4. Salvation doth not come by the law alone; and were it not for the atonement, which God himself made for the sins and iniquities of his people, that they must unavoidably perish, notwithstanding the law of Moses.

5. And since man had fallen he could not merit anything of himself; but the sufferings and death of Christ atone for their sins, through faith and repentance, and so forth.

I don't have evidence that my memories reflect reality, but I believe I had breakfast this morning.

I don't have evidence that my senses convey accurate information, but I believe I'm typing on my computer.

I don't have evidence that other people have feelings, but I believe you do.

At my university there is going to be a Jewish Rabbi coming to talk. His lecture is on "A Jewish Perspective on Death". As a Christian, am I obligated to protest his lecture? Am I obligated to speak with him afterwards and try to lead him to Christ?
I am seriously worried about the lies he is going to be telling the lecture students. I am a believer in Christ and I know that Christ is the only way to recieve Salvation. His lecture may lead untold amounts of people to the gates of Hell.

I really do need some SERIOUS advice. Please do not delete this Yahoo!. I am respectfully asking a question those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Dude, Jesus is an Idol. Those damn Apostles used him the way Satan wanted to use Moses's corpse to emass a following. Jesus didn't even want the Christian church to be created. He wanted the corruption of the original Jewish church to end. There's nothing wrong with the Old Testament just the way it was. The problem was that the teachers of the day lost sight of the old ways and the church as a whole became corrupt as a result.

So many Christians rattle that "I am the way, the truth, and the light..." verse off as all the evidence they need that you can't get into heaven without Jesus. Well...
A. How many times in the New Testament does he make that claim? and...
B. What were they talking about in that Chapter? What was that statement a response to? IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH JESUS BEING THE ONLY WAY TO BE SAVED!!!
Any child of GOD can make that claim. Any child of GOD can make any of the claims Jesus made. The Apostles either didn't understand that, or they did want to.

At first the devil had been coming on August 4th every year trying to convince me to have kids every since I can remember. For most of my life, girls always seem to be attracted to me even when Im not trying to get them to. Once I turned 19 (7 years ago) both him and Jesus came. The devil kept trying to get me to have kids but Jesus told that my son will be the Anti Christ. I dont really believe in religion but cant be any different then all those bible stories of people's faith being faith being tested. It would make sense since some Christian predictions say Armageddon will come around 2040. Has this happen to anyone too?
p.s. : I dont do drugs and Im not chemical imbalanced.

I went to jail and then rehab and no longer drink. I lost my career as a teacher but I am getting my daughter back and I have a new man who absolutely ADORES me and doesn't drink. I almost went to jail for ten years, I camethat close to not being here. Now next Wednesday at 9 am I will become free to marry this man who has loved me for two years. We met while and during my stint in jail and fell in love through letters. We never even laid eyes upon each other until 5 months after writing. He turned out to be handsome and he thinks I am beautiful. I just got the phone call telling me to be in court next Weds. What do you think? Do all things come full circle? Is God good or what?

A serious question: Do you love God more than your children, grandchildren, significant other, etc.? I'm just curious, you say that you love God with all your heart, and I guess I can bye into that by the way you defend your faith, but what about your children, or your sign. other? What place is in your heart for them? Wouldn't it hurt your sign. other or children that you put someone else in front of them? Merely curious, no ill will implied.

Some guy at my work called me and a few other's "non-believers." (Even though it turns out that both the other two people were in fact deists)

But Christians seem to not only call atheists non-believers, but all alternate religions as such, why? Is that NOT condescending?
