You can break any and all rules! No one is stopping you from doing so! If you are a Christian you won't want to sin, though. Every time we sin as a Christian it remind us that we are the one standing above Christ and driving the nails into His hands and feet. That is what causes us to try our best to flee from all manner of sin. Of course we fail miserably, every single day. We are sinners among sinners, repenting and trying harder each and every day!

Your mother loves you without reservation. There probably is nothing you could do that would make her stop loving you, no matter how vile. She would still find some way to forgive you. Just b/c she will forgive you for anything that you could possibly imagine to do, does that mean that you will go out & do it? And if you won't, why won't you? Is it b/c she loves you & through her love for you, she has taught you to love & respect her? Well, that's why Christians don't run wild & break all of the rules. And, just like you will ocassionally do things that hurt your mother & perhaps even break her heart, you will ask her forgiveness. It will hurt you as much or more than it hurts her b/c you love her so much. Same with Christians.

If Jesus died for our sins and we just ran wild, I think we would have missed the point that we should love each other. As for the rules, well that would depend on which rules. I've read that Jesus broke a few rules himself.

Because He died for your sins why would He want you to keep breaking His rules. You are supposed to obey Him and keep His commandments He didn't die so that you can continue in your sins He died so you could know Him. Besides He died for the sins of those that will accept Him and those that become Christians don't want to sin. I am a true born again Christian and I don't like sin.

If you are born of the Sprite then you died to sin(the law) with Jesus on the cross. So you are free from judgment under the law.
However if you are a vessel of the holy sprite then you are a vessel of righteousness.
So how can a vessel of rightness deal in inequity? Paul didn't even teach the Greeks the 10 commandments. But told them to abstain from meat that had been strangled and from blood and fornication and to stay away from idols. Also he told them to do all things in charity. Remember Jesus's two commandments.
-love god with your heart , mind, and all your strength-
-and love your neighbor as your self-

To "accept" this free gift of salvation, you need to chose to make Jesus your Lord, instead of allowing someone else, or yourself to be lord anymore. Once Jesus is your Lord (and Savior), you will not run wild and break all the rules. (not even just in your heart or mind)
Many people will "do" all kinds of Christian "stuff" throughout their lives, and never actually give their heart to Jesus - they're not really saved, and Jesus will tell them on the day of judgment "Go away from me. I never knew you." That will be a bad day for all the "run wild" people.......

No, we don't just run wild!
That would be like spitting in God's face!

Romans 6
Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ
1What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
When a person is Born Again, they are changed, & no longer want to follow the same sinful paterns that they once followed!
We realize that our lives now belong to Christ, & not to ourselves any more, & only want to please Him!

So he died and went to heaven for your sins but you'll die and spend an eternity in hell for them? It just feels forced. Like in a story when things don't take a logical path.
Stepping back it sounds a little like 'backfill'. Sometimes writers establish something in a story and then finding that they've written themselves into a corner have to create backfill to account for the discrepancies.
You have a story of someone you portrayed as powerful but then they were killed just like any ordinary person? You would later need a quick if not entirely logical reason why they let themselves be killed.
I'm speaking of Star Wars of course. I mean Obiwan was going to die someday anyway right? Why not at least try to take out Vader?

Repenting means you are doing a 180. It doesn't give you a free pass. If you continue sinning the same way before, that means you didn't fully repent and the truth is not in you. Sin seperates you from God. You ask for repentence to be with God.
Get it?

He died for our sins so that we would not all automatically go to hell. We are still held responsible for our actions so he gave us a guide to go by which is the bible. If we went by that then we would automatically go to heaven. But humans mess up and sin so we have to ask for forgiveness so that we may still go to heaven. It's like getting your drivers license. You get it with no restrictions but when you mess up and speed you have to be accountable for your actions and pay the fine and then you can continue to drive.
That's just the way I see it....
