okay so he told them not to eat the fruit right? okay but wasnt the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and bad? so isnt it possible that they couldve committed any other sin also because they didnt know it was bad? now I understand by knowing the difference between both would also help them in doing something bad but by knowing the difference, wouldnt they be able to tell what is good and what isnt?

so why did god punish them for not listening to him? how were they supposed to know it was "bad" until after they ate and realized that what they did was wrong? if they knew then I could understand, but they had no way of knowing until after eating the fruit.

A. & E. walked & talked with God Daily being taught by Him personally. They could have & Did ask many Questions of their Maker. We see from Scripture that they must have asked / discussed this "Tree Issue" on at least one other occasion for E. tells Satan what "She Says" is what God told them about it (by the way she Lied!). Why does everyone think these people were totally Naive, Innocent & just plain Stupid about what was going on here??? They were created in a Perfect Environment and Still Sinned!!! So Mr. "Save the World Gore" (& Followers), "Perfect Environment" is NOT THE ISSUE & Never Has Been!!! They have nothing to "Blame" but their own "Volition" for Sinning! John

God gave Adam and Eve one rule: to not eat the forbidden fruit from the tree. Eve, being a women, didn't listen to him and committed the one sin that there was to commit; thus, condemning both her and Adam. They knew that it was bad, or else why would God tell them to not eat it? They fell into temptation by the snake in the tree (Satan) and by their actions, they damned themselves to Hell for following what Satan said rather than listening to their Creator, God.

I know exactly what you are talking about and I think you have a better grasp on the purpose of this story then many Christians.

The very purpose of this story is to teach us that we are learn that there are consequences for our actions. I believe God wanted them to have the knowledge of good and evil and the best way to "teach" them this knowledge was to instill consequences (i didn't say punishment) for their actions.

So you are right in saying it couldn't really be a sin nor did they knew what "good" was. Rather, they choose to disobey God and learned what it means to disobey God.

This is the same thing that all of us humans experience. We really do not know what "good and evil" is until we experience both.

Daniell, Adam and Eve knew finished properly what the leads to their movements may well be and that those effects may well be undesirable via fact God defined that to them previous . so as that they might not have had to had eaten from the tree of the understanding of excellent and evil to have won that expertise.

The sin they committed was disobedience. Basically they said "You're not the boss of me."

The "bad" that they did was known to them. They were told to not do something, and they did it. It happened because they decided to trust what Satan said ("God doesn't want you to be as smart as Him.") instead of trusting what God said ("If you eat of that fruit you will surely die.")

God then sent Jesus to give us the chance to be reconciled with Him. We need to accept Him as Lord - tell Him "O.K., You're the boss of me."

God told them not to eat the fruit that should have been enough to stop them from eating it.

the story isn't true, so it doesn't really matter. honestly, i doubt anyone even existed named adam or eve for quite some time after people even had names. those names are from much later in human history.

What is the question since there is no sensible logic in the series of statements with question marks?
