You believe that you just rot in the ground after you die. What's the point of living if there is nothing to achieve after death? Don't you know that you are throwing away an eternal opportunity in heaven? Why not choose a religion and give yourself a chance? God sent Jesus to save us and you are throwing away your opportunity. It is almost like not wanting money.

"Yet if there really were a [Theory of Everything], it would also determine our actions--so the theory itself would determine the outcome of our search for it! And why should it determine we come to the right conclusions based on the evidence? Might it not equally well determine that we draw the wrong conclusion?"

Hawking (A Brief History of Time)

Without God, is there any reason to believe any of our scientific conclusions are true? Or our logical, rational, reasonable, common sense conclusions, for that matter?

16And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

17And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

Atheist is YOUR way of calling me something that makes you feel better for being a Christmas Celebrater. Well Ho-Ho-Ho I think you are using the word like a certain "n" word and I want to be considered and here-forth announce Thar I Am an American Realist and will not nor do I have to tolerate your discriminatory remark about How I See The World. What's more-I suffer each and everyday knowing that You Christians push your beliefs upon this world in a mass GANG that rips into the political policies of this Great Nation and push your mainstream idiological idiosyncrasis upon those of us that WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH Jesus the Hippie. His long hair and funny dresses made him more of a sissy than a man and the fact that he had no kids or a wife tells me he was gay. But I don't go around calling you Jesus Freaks or God Lovers so please remember REALIST because I am 4 real and will not wear your scarlett A! Why not call you Anti-Atheist. You like the name Christ? I like REALIST. Get it!

Ok, just out of curiosity is it true that the Bible was originally written in Hebrew, and that their language didn't have vowels, making it hard to translate it. Could some of the words been mistranslated and taken way out of context because that's not what was originally intended?

Our religion teacher just through that fact out a few days ago and I'm wondering if it's true.

I used to be quite an active christian, quite religious then but it didnt do much for me and eventually i became less interested.

I do believe that there is a higher being amoung us. but i dont believe that it is to be worshiped or praised.

i do think tho tht religion is a good thing for some people, because it gives them a sense of security maybe? it lets them have morals, knowing whats right and wrong.

now, i think that doing what you think is right and tht u have good principles and tht u just be nice basically to everyone is pretty good enough.

what does that make me?

An accident? I don't think so. Our universe is too complex. Big bang theory? I agree in a way, because it has been proved and I do beleive our earth came in a split second but I don't think it happened on it's own. impossible. And don't say science. Explain how.

How can the bible be real if:

1. It says the world is a circle
2. It says rain doesn't come from clouds (I think it said crystals?)
3. It also says something about an arch or something similar covering the world, though pictures say there is not?

If not, why do pro lifers want to change the laws to outlaw abortion? Do you know the mind of God?

If I think God wants us all to all worship at a mosque, and I got a law passed to make this happen, would you be OK with that?

I'll tell you how I know that most of the "Christians" in this forum are actually trolls that have multiple accounts, many of which they use when they feel like being Atheists instead: Most of the answers I've gotten are unnessessairily hostile. You guys just want to yell at someone. Well, being nasty isn't improving your station in life. So, deal with it.

One minute, they're the same... the next minute, they're different... DUDE!!! You misinterpreted it!!!! Get over it.

That statue of Jesus on a cross you worship is an idol. It does absolutely nothing!!! Sure people huddle around it, they huddle around fire, too if it's cold enough. Should I worship fire, too???

I've taken a lot of flack for questions like these, but in the end, am I disrespecting GOD, or am I disrespecting YOU?

Someone who believes in the facts that Jesus was the "Son of God" and died on the cross for all of humankind's sins, and also believes in the word of the Bible.

If this is true, then aren't all Catholics and Protestants and all other "sects" considered Christian?

If not, then why not?

We are all sinners. We all deserve Hell. We have lied, we have been unkind to others, some us have cheated and stole, etc.

God so loved the world that He gave His only Son so that our sins might be wiped clean. We cannot go to Heaven without Jesus.

Imagine if I told you that a murderer got off scott free because he told the judge he was sorry. Imagine the outrage.

It is not enought to believe in a God and be sorry for what you have done. You must accept Jesus to avoid Hell. Only then, can your sins be washed clean.

Do you agree?

My daughter "witnessed" sort of in school today. There was a little girl speaking how she was afraid of ghosts and my daughter told her about Jesus and how to pray. She then taught her the Lord's Prayer and told her to no longer to be afraid. She did this innocently. She is 7 years old and just did it because she didn't want the little girl to be afraid. I was so happy. I was kissing her. She didn't even understand why it made me so happy. God bless our children!

I've been kind of a pantheist for several years now. I've been building altars at rivers and the bottom of trees, and making "offerings" to the earth, but I have followed a specific path nor do I know anyone else who worships like I do. Well, recently, when I meditate, I've been getting glimpses of "beings" in the trees, in the water. So I began to think that there may be actual gods and goddesses out there, and they were trying to get my attention. For the last week, I've been asking them for clarification and to reveal themselves to me, and the only thing that's changed about my meditation is I hear the sound of rushing water and a heavy feeling on my chest, and all I see clearly are beautiful exotic eyes.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? And if not, any tips on how to get clearer messages from the gods and goddesses through meditation?

Or if I just sound like I'm going insane, tell me that too, lol.
