Why is it no longer obtainable? in basic terms asserting "the universe is in basic terms too complicated" isn't an answer or clarification. How a lot complexity is in basic terms too a lot to be an twist of destiny? have you ever tried cleansing up the damaged glass from a shattered vase? Is the complexity of the varieties and the area that shards propagate from the epicenter of the disturbance too complicated to be an twist of destiny? How about the distribution of aspects and chemical substances following an airplane crash? Is that too complicated? Is there some threshold of twist of destiny-hood and then it ought to were designed? Or is it obtainable that 1000's, even thousands and thousands of collected tiny unintended activities effect in an effect that seems 'designed'? Chaos idea, and the notorious 'butterfly effect' let us know that it may. BTW: What are aetheists? Is that like some archaic style of atheist? i love it. i imagine i will use it any more.

Why are you asking Atheists? Why do believers assume we know? Atheist do not follow a doctrine or dogma & we all think differently from one another. We all became Atheists in our own way. It's not about we know how the earth was created, it is about the fact that there is no God! Here is the definition of Atheist for those that are confused : one who believes that there is no deity. Simple as that. Where in the definition does it say we are all equipped with that knowledge?

However, I believe in evolution & the Big bang theory, note the word theory. Science constatntly evolves & changes, religion can never evolve, it has strict set of beliefs enforced with a docturine. Science is based on facts evidence, etc. so it is rational/logical to adhere to. You have doubts, so do yourself a favor, along with the rest of us & put down the bible, go to the library pick up some science jouranals

THE FIRST BILLION YEARS

The Earth's surface was originally molten, as it cooled the volcanoes belched out massive amounts of carbon dioxide, steam, ammonia and methane. There was no oxygen. The steam condensed to form water which then produced shallow seas.

Evidence points to bacteria flourishing 3.8 billion years ago so this means that life got under way about 700 million years after the Earth was created. Such early forms of life existed in the shallow oceans close to thermal vents, these vents were a source of heat and minerals.

THE NEXT BILLION YEARS

These primitive life forms then took the next evolutionary step and started to photosynthesise (using sunlight to convert carbon dioxide and water to food energy and oxygen). This was an important turning point in Earth history because the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere was being converted to oxygen.
These green plants went on producing oxygen (and removing the CO2).
Most of the carbon from the carbon dioxide in the air became locked up in sedimentary rocks as carbonates and fossil fuels. Carbon dioxide also dissolved into the oceans.
The ammonia and methane in the atmosphere reacted with the oxygen.
Nitrogen gas was released, partly from the reaction between ammonia and oxygen, but mainly from living organisms such as denitrifying bacteria. (remember that nitrogen is a very unreactive gas and it has built up slowly).

THE LAST 2½ BILLION YEARS OR SO

As soon as the oxygen was produced by photosynthesis it was taken out again by reacting with other elements (such as iron). This continued until about 2.1 billion years ago when the concentration of oxygen increased markedly. As oxygen levels built up and then . . . . . .

If you were to go by religion and the idea that this world was created by God then the earth would only be about 6000 years old, when in reality it is 4.5 billion years old.

There are just too many things on this planet and our universe that disprove the bible. The men that wrote the bible at the time were just too ignorant of too many things to create a story that is viable in the modern age.

So, it was not created on purpose or by accident, it was just created. And over the years it has been able to adapt and create the complex systems that you have stated are too hard to create.

Of course the universe is complex -- but it is also chaotic, which breeds complexity. The accretion of the solar system from matter some 4.5 billion years ago, at least some of which matter came from a supernova, is scientifically a done deal. The big bang theory isn't quite a done deal yet, but it is close, and there is at the moment nothing else in the running; we need to get a better understanding of dark matter and dark energy before we can say for sure. Evolution, of course, is now a proven fact (details are available on request -- please provide an e-mail address), and the evolutionary history of the earth is well told in:

Ooh, a "new" spelling of 'atheist'.

Anyway, atheists don't all believe the same thing - except for the non-existence of deities.

Generally, though, atheists hold the position that evidence is necessary for knowledge. No evidence can exist for "how the universe (world) got here" because that would imply that something happened *before* the beginning of time. Natural laws are themselves not accidents; they exist and the universe's order is roughly in equilibrium from our perspective on Earth. Is it possible that a divine source is responsible for the universe's creation? It's *possible* but unless there's evidence a true scientist would not speculate on such things. As such, most atheists see no need to assume a divine being exists/existed and therefore don't believe in one.

well think about this,How the heck did Noah build an ark and have animals two of every kind on board...Why didn't ,say the lions eat the zebra,,and how did the whole Earth get covered in water...i doubt this also.....How did all the planets originate..thats the trouble with man we have no concept of an end....we cannot grasp infinity at all...Its all very complex but the bible for me is all stories to keep the peasants in order...

so, if your brain isn't powerful enough to figure it out, it has to be GOD!!! is that your argument?

yes, it was an accident. it might seem tough for such a precise set of circumstances to occur...but if you take a few billion years of time, random things do happen.

just like if you put a team of monkeys on typewriters for eternity, eventually (just out of random luck) they would type out the entire story of Hamlet without one typo. if you have infinite time, everything that is possible to happen will. now, we most likely didn't have an infite amount of time...but billions of years is similar when compared to the dot of time our lives last.

now, your brain (and mine...and everyone elses here) is not nearly as developed or clever as you suppose. we're idiots trying to figure out something way beyond our comprehension. and just because i don't comprehend it either, doesn't mean i have to invent a supernatural being. i can accept a lack of understanding. why can't you?

Atheist dont claim to know the beginning. We think there is a lot of things beyond our wildest imagnation. but just cuz we cant answer that question, doesnt mean we are gonna fill it in with any answer, especially not a simple answer like "God".

The very fact that it is so complex precludes the possibility of an even more complex (and uncreated) intelligent creator as the cause of its existence.

The correct answer is "We don't know how the universe came to exist but we can be sure that the root of all existence is not an intelligent entity".
