Sir Winston Churchill - circa 1899:

"Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyzes the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step."

Like practioners of "civil disobedience" before me, I am always seeking to persuade non-muslims not to apply the doctrines of tolerance so common in the west, to those who so plainly refuse to return the same (Islamists).

Questions like this always get the proverbial "I know a Muslim and hes not like that" responses. Whats so painful about reading responses like that is the lack of critical thinking skills so prevelant therein.

I ask regarding Revelation 22:3-4, but now I ask you about II Timothy 4:1 which says, I charge you therefore before "God' and "the Lord Jesus Christ", who will judge the living and the dead at HIS (Singular)APPEARING and HIS (Singular) Kingdom. Can you see ONE God between God and Jesus?

Revelation 22:3-4 says and there shall be no more curse, but the throne of "God" and the "Lamb" shall be in it, and HIS servant shall serve HIM. They shall see HIS face, and HIS name shall be on their forehead. Do you see the ONE God between God AND the Lamb? All Singular!!

What about this one? How many Gods do you reconize here? Ephesians 5:20 says, Giving thanks always for all things unto "God" and "the Father" in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Do you see three Gods? Is God separate from the Father due to the word "AND"? No, still ONE!!

Titus 1:2-3 says hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ who gave HIMSELF (Singular) for us.................Still One!

Correct me if I'm wrong. From what I hear from a friend who's wiccan, it represents the 5 elements of the earth. But I know that satanists also use it as well but it's something different. Am I wrong? I'm neither one. I'm Christian. But I'm curious what it really means

Do your knees bend and allow you to walk? Do they allow you to properly pick things up from the ground? Do they allow you to change direction quickly? All these things are good but they are not really that important.
The most important thing your knees are supossed to do is, bend far enough for you to get down on them in humility and talk with God almighty!!!!
Some people have caloused knees while others are still tender. Mine are worn out from years of abuse but when I get down on them and spend time time with my Father they do not hurt at all.

Are your knees caloused or tender and are they serving properly or not??

Since this teaching is based entirely on Tradition and not scripture (a fact acknowledged by serious Catholic theologians such as Ludwig Ott ) can you tell me what Christian taught this doctrine in the first five centuries of the church age?

I've heard the above statement from tons of people. "I believe in Jesus, just not what the Bible says."

But Jesus' story is in the Bible, so how does that make sense? It seems more like people are choosing to just beleive parts of the Bible they like.

So, can somebody please explain how you can believe in Jesus, but not the Bible that tells us about him? It's not like you can talk to anybody who saw him die. This was 2007 years ago.

I see that there is a common hidden teaching in all three of the Holy Books of the Jews, Christians and Muslims. Since a little boy I have been lead to believe that we all would come closer to the truth if we focused on what we have in common instead of our percieved differences.

There are plenty of people who wish to exploit the different perspectives of each of the faiths. I only want to exploit the things we have in common.

Please if you want to denigrate another persons religion there are leigions who will support you in that. Go to them to share those ideas. Here, please only focus on what good we have in common. Things like the worship of one God. Good deeds. Teachings of love. Things like that. I will select the answer that exploits the most teachings that are common to all three. Any negative feed back about anothers faith or religion will disqualifiy your entry.

Good Luck. Move forward in love!

I'm in marching band, and for good luck, we have a 206 person prayer circle. I'm not 'out of the closet' as an atheist and this Saturday is my turn to lead the prayer, being that I am a leader in the band. I have a few friends that are Christians that know I'm an atheist, and I don't want them to think that I'm mocking them or making fun them by leading the prayer.

Also, does that make the prayer 'in-valid' because I said it, and not a Christian? I mean, I'm only 1 out of 206, will your God shun my band because I said the prayer?

Oh, and is there anything I ~shouldn't~ say while praying? I really don't want to offend anyone.

Well a lot of us believe that when we die we either go to Heaven or Hell. But does Heaven really exist and if so then where is it?

Why has no one ever yet found it or is it just a figment of someone's overactive imagination or maybe it's not really a place after all but has more to do with an individual's state of mind or being.

Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for you reap whatever you sow. Galatians 6:7

It's only when we face our sins, that God's forgiving grace not only changes our thoughts and actions; it will also change our hearts. Grace doesn't paint over our sins and flaws; it changes us from deep within.

That they are just like a bunch of 7 year olds in a playground arguing about what Pokemon is the best and why. Each one is convinced of his own position and KNOWS that THEIR choice is the right one and everyone else's is wrong.
The problem is that most of these 7 year olds know, deep down, that their Pokemon is made up.
So, why can't theists understand that their gods are just the same? Imaginary beings with NO basis in reality.

And so this can be in the R&S section why don't you tell me your religious beliefs as well. :-)

iffy thing. Read the first part to get the idea here -

The way to understand our origins is to remember that living organisms are in a state of constant change - It's not that evolution *can* occur, but that it *must* occur, simply because there is no mechanism in living organisms to ensure perfect, flawless reproduction for ever.

Suppose you could study a population of chimpanzees in the jungle, on a timescale of millions of years. Clearly, each individual only lives a few decades, so the population is constantly being succeeded by individuals which are different from their parents, because reproduction is imperfect - and remember, this is *inevitable*. It can't *not* happen. All the time this population is inter-breeding, the genes are getting mixed together, and only genes which work well with all other chimpanzee genes will tend to get passed down to successive generations (because individuals with genes that don't work well together will tend not to survive and reproduce).

How scriptural is this. Some stress on " their angel" and on the whole angel among us thing. Others believe that dead loved ones bcome angels looking down upon them. To all christians i put this to you. What do you believe the functon of an angel is in our lives as believers and what is the balance we should strike when considering this matter of angels without going overboard.

Tnx to all that will take the time to answer.
Scriptural references to strengthen your points is much appreicated.
