first , I believe was Mark
last - hmmm

Matthew - to the Jewish family (the Tax collector)
Mark - to the Romans
Luke - to the gentiles (the physician)
John - to the intelligensia(abstracts - like - Jesus is the Light of the world) In the beginning was the Word

Is this really relivant? The Matthew, Mark, Luke and John (in chronological order just to be annoying) were not the ones written of in the bible but poetic righters in the late 2nd century AD who were paid to create parableistic writings of jesus's teachings.

Mark is the oldest, Matthew was for the Jews.
