I believed in One God for many years, but it had only a moderate restraining effect on my wickedness. I tried to do the right thing, but it just wasn't in me. Then one day I fired God. Things got very bleak very quickly. Then when I was at my lowest He came to me by His Holy Spirit and spoke this simple word into my heart: "Maybe Jesus really did die for your sins".
I believed, and with that such a transformation came over me as it would take days to fully recount. To put it most simply, I was changed from a bad person into a good person, with all the benefits that come from being a good person - peace, joy, hope, acceptance - but I received it as a gift, through the grace that is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and the Savior of my soul.
I have been a child of God now through faith in Jesus Christ for nearly 37 years, and I have a confident expectation of heaven because of what God did for me through His Son.

ok im trying not to be patronising. you have a right to believe in anything you like- im athiest still waiting for answers- however how it affects your life should be down to you-if you want to give a percentage of your wages to your religion that is your choice but if you are told that if you dont pay up that you will go to hell i would have serious misgivings. you must listen to what you are told, and you must read your holy book but if god exists and if you are a true believer does the bible not say that god gives the choice to YOU. i hope you find what you are looking for, good luck

I think believing in God, or a "Higher Power" makes people act a little bit more moral, that is, if they really believe, and not just pay lip service to the church for society's sake. I think it also makes people happier because the promise of life after death makes death seem more acceptable. The thought of just dying and ceasing to be, you have to admit, is a little creepy. Those who don't believe in a God don't really have fear of being punished for their earthly crimes, so I think they have more of that living-in-the-moment, no-regrets kind of lifestyle. Im not entirely sure about people who believe in many gods, but you have my input about the other two =)

He/she will desire to know all about Him. But whether you have belief in the one God. You are going to have a belief in something whether it is the right one or not. That's just the way it is.

I've believed in just one god, the true God, all my life, so if there is a change I can't see it. And yes, true God statement could be taken any way you want.
