A serious question: Do you love God more than your children, grandchildren, significant other, etc.? I'm just curious, you say that you love God with all your heart, and I guess I can bye into that by the way you defend your faith, but what about your children, or your sign. other? What place is in your heart for them? Wouldn't it hurt your sign. other or children that you put someone else in front of them? Merely curious, no ill will implied.

Yes.
I am married, three adult children and seven grandchildren. I love them more than anyone else in the whole world....and I love God more.

They are not being deprived of any of my love for them, in fact, my love for them is greater than it would otherwise be if I did not put God first.

God bless you.

The first and greatest commandment is to love the Lord your
God, the second is to love others as you love yourself.
In the ten commandments, the first few commands are about
God and the last ones are about how to treat others.

The principal is that you have JOY - Jesus, Others, You,
in that order.

Putting God first is VERY important - when you do that,
you can listen to God for the best possible answers to
life - the best wisdom in serving others.
So, you need God first in order to serve others and
yourself effectively - since God loves purely and His
wisdom surpasses all!

My husband is glad that I put God first and I am glad
my husband puts God first!

I would not have it any other way!

I love my husband, children and grandchildren very much, and would do anything I could for them, but no one takes the place of God in my heart (and when I say heart, I don't mean the one that pumps blood).

The Bible says in Matthew 22:37-40 that I should love the Lord thy God with all my heart, soul and mind, and this the first and great commandment; and the second is like unto it, that I should love my neighbor as myself. The Bible also says in Matthew 10:37 that he that loveth father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me.

I put God ahead of them, and they put God ahead of me, and it's ok.

Dear Spirit Wanderer,

That is such a good question, it has caused people to stumble not understanding the benefits of loving God first and foremost. My children are gifts from God. I praise Him and thank Him for that. When you put God first, everyone you love benefits from prayer.

Hope this helps,
Elizabeth
