Because the town of Ave Maria was proposing to ban the sale of pornography and contraceptives and the performance of abortions. That's against the law.
Plus, I don't know, religious nuts segregating themselves from society in their own little enclave...usually a formula for disaster.

What? why are you concerned about porn, is your husband or boyfriend watching too much or are you?
Religion can be like porn for some people and they can become addicted to it also.
I've never heard of Ave Maria Town till now, it sounds like a place where someone might flip out and shoot a whole bunch of people to me. Shutting the world out means you are really shutting yourselves in a sort of prison.

Never heard of it but as long as the town government doesn't promote a particular religion they obey fair housing laws and don't discriminate based on religious belief don't use tax money to promote a particular religion businesses don't discriminate against potential employees based on their religion...

To tell you the truth, I and I am sure many others do not understand what it is you are asking? Do you want to know why people of faith feel that watching Porn is wrong? or why are people protesting a certain area of a city that their main attraction is pornography? what is it that you're asking?

So any town or city or country should just do as it wants,"if you don't like it don't live there",don't be stupid,so can they pass laws in your home town saying you must watch porn,is that ok with you because you can then just leave?
