I hate how people criticize the Catholic church! They need to realize that the Catholic church is the only real religion because in reality all the Protestants etc "protested" because being Catholic was not convenient to them! I believe that whenever something is not convenient you can't just go a make up some nonsense like people did back in the days! I hate all the ignorant people and It really frustrates me when people say Catholics are not saved...what the heck is up with that! Anyone else agree?

Do you believe a woman can be a pastor for a church?
I know many people use the adage "that was then, this is now" but that means the Bible is no value because of its age. Yet, we claim that the Bible is 100% authoritative and God inspired.
You can't have it both ways.
Can a woman lead spiritually over a congregation when she is not the spiritual leader in her own home? I am not talking Sunday school teacher, I am referring to pastor/reverend. Pastors have spiritual authority, yet, God placed the man in that position at the basic foundation of family. Does that mean the family structure is nonfunctional when it enters into the doors of the church?

Something to ponder. Curious on the different answers I will get, since it is a basic yes or no question.

i cannot believe so many stars even exist. i mean personally i think all telescopes are bunch of toys taking fake pictures. there are only 5000 stars in universe and they're fixed to solid firmament as mentioned in Genesis.

you are all pretty ignorant. i am not like that. i think everybody should have their own beliefs. i am christian you do not have to believe in what i believe. i don't go around preaching my beliefs to people either. i understand how many christians can generalize abotu athiests too and say athiests go to hell. which is also very ignorant. but why do you bash on me?

i have athiest friends, we never talk about religion, so we never argue.

why are YOU so concerned with MY religion anyway?

anger is a mental disposisiotan that we get when we are offended in out course for creation. imajination is a state of mind that can either drive us insane or keep us going, we dream things that will never come true because we dont know "where" we are and not evan "when" we are and evan if the universe was that simple we whould be dead by now. Oness seems our only escape from these things but alought of people are against it, but think of a world were you just accepted everyone as a sort of computer and everything had peace and nothing was new to you? were everyone said sorry and thankyou, its hard to live in this fast paced world and theres always obstacles. I belive that heavan has to exist because nothing ever dissapears, EVER. think about it when you burn a piese of paper it turns to ashes and into smaller particles, when you delete somthing form a computer it never dissapears. My friend was over like last week and I have this mini statue of mary that plays ave maria and its on my dresser...she saw it and was like why do u have a statue of mary in your room! Then she was like why do Catholics worship idols and bow down to statues! And I was like we don't worship them like that! It really annoyed me! This girl is baptist and she thinks her religion is superior to everyone elses! And I told her we don't worship them like she thinks we do and she was like yeah and you pray to them to and then she was like you say that one prayer and I was like Hail Mary? and she was like yeah! I think this it total crap and I hate how Christians like Protestants, Baptists, etc always say that about Catholics!

Does anyone else think the abuse reporting is getting out of hand around here?

Can't we all appreciate our disagreements and respect our rights to free speech?

Do we have to report abuse every time our feelings are hurt?

Are there any older mature people engaged in this type of censorship - or are most of you like me thinking - whether Christian or Atheist - most of the abuse reporting around here is done by immature, irresponsible teen-agers?

So I ask you - is R&S just a bizarre on-line world where all the power is in the hands of some crazy kids - like "Lord of the Flies"?!?

PS - I am a Christian, been insulted here many times in some of the most vile and disgusting ways imaginable - age 37 - and have never reported any one no matter how hateful or offensive I consider their post to be.....and never will.

how is it possible to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, mind and soul... and be able to be in love with someone? is it natural to think about the other person a lot? should we feel that is wrong?

it says we should love God with AAAALLLLLLLL of our hearts, minds and souls. ALL. not put God first in your heart mind and soul.....

so how is it possible to be in love, to marry someone and not violate this first commandment?

I'm just wondering because I'm Catholic and some people are like I hate Catholic people and are like Eww I would never be Catholic! It seems like a lot of the Atheists on here were once Catholic and then turned Atheist! Why is this? I think Catholicism is a great religion and I don't see why many people hate it so much!

So many Christians read The Bible literally when considering whether of not homosexuality is a sin. Fine. But why don't we do the same when reading ALL the verses in The Bible?

How many of us believe that women need to keep quiet in church?

Why don't we give up all our possessions and follow Jesus in everything we do?

Have you not seen any miracles happening around you. every day is a miracle, every new born baby is a miracle. every new plant is a miracle. Are these things not enough for you to prove that God is working at all times and He is a living God .
