How can you believe that the Catholic church is always right? It was the catholic church who shunned Galileo when he said the Sun was the center of the solar system, and that the Earth is round. It was the Catholic church who handed out "coupons" that "saved" people in exchange for money, and damning those that didn't (or couldn't afford) to pay. It was the Catholic church who sponsored Columbus' voyage to the Americas, where he and his men eradicated the native people because they weren't catholic. Civilizations have actually been wiped off the face of the Earth because of Catholicism. The catholic church made many, MANY dumb decisions throughout history.
Not to say protestants haven't (Salem witch trials, the crusades) messed up. But at least protestants reformed and changed their ways, learning that Church and state MUST be separate - a concept that Catholicism still hasn't really accepted. The one true leader is Christ, not some Pope.

A lot of questions there. Let me start by simply agreeing that just because a man who expounds a teaching fails to follow that teaching does not mean that the teaching invalid, as any student of logic would tell you. Then I'll follow that up with asking why you are assuming that those who slam the Church for the actions of a few are using logic? Logic isn't involved - it's simple emotional revulsion! To your point #2, let me point out that the Protestants are no more hypocritical than the aforementioned priests and probably less hypocritical than the Bishops and other Church authorities who willfully covered for them. Lastly, the Catholic Church's teachings have NOT remained constant for over 2,000 years. They were changed dramatically quite recently by that scale. Since it is quite possible that the requirement that priests abstain from all sexual activity when it is against their nature is at least part of the cause of the misguided obsessions of however few, maybe (just maybe) it's time to change them again. Awww, poor little baby a Cat licker and doesn't read her history books.
First off, they are not the only real religion. You could make the same claim for Orthodox churches too. They were one and the same until they split after the move to Constantinople.
Secondly, the 95 thesis posted by Martin Luther made a lot of claims against the Catholic church that were true. By that time, the church had become so corrupt and so far removed from what Christ said it's not even funny.
Yes, they did protest. Yes, you can just go and protest. It's called starting a revolution. The protestants started a revolution.
Sounds like you are the ignorant person for not reading the history of your church.
Don't worry, I hate protestants too, just you need to wake up.

I'm an ex-Catholic and while I don't criticize Catholics, I believe they are a little too involved with the Pope and the intecession of the saints. I don't so much believe in any organized religion. I believe in Christ. I don't pray to anyone else or believe it is proper to do so.
I DO like the respect and solemnity that the Catholic church shows during services but it's not very spiritually moving to hear the same thing over and over again (Priest says this...congregation responds with this...) As a kid I found it very hard to stay awake during mass.
I also have a tendency to believe that there are a whole lot of unspiritual Catholics around. They go to church more out of habit and to keep up appearances than for the right reasons.
The Catholic church needs to focus more on Christ and serving the Lord than the politics of the Vatican.

Well I'm Catholic and I know that it was the first church before all of the other religions and then the protestants broke off from it. But yes Catholics are "saved" (as I guess you could say), but I don't think that everyone should be Catholic....I'm not sure if that's what you are trying to say (?). I think that they should have the right to choose their own religion and it might not have been because it wasn't convenient for them..they just might have had different beliefs.

May I answer presently from a 'Christian' viewpoint to God's glory?
I was raised in a 'Protestant' congregation (which I have left, even after being a deacon. Objectively speaking there are 7 (big picture) deviations; the Protestant group I left had all 7 then. The 'Catholic' church (the teachings, not the people) has about 3.5 deviations currently. Many 'Protestant' groups may sense 'flaws' in the Catholic teaching, but do not seem (to me) presently to 'correct the flaws'.
I have currently outstanding documents to the 'local cardinal' diocese, and am awaiting a reply regarding some of those 'flaws'.

Ok well first you arent helping your case by saying you "HATE" people, that is contrary to scripture. Second, saying Catholic is the only real religion is also false, since if you check scripture you will see that there were no religions when the disciples first began establishing churches. They actually met from home to home, not in formal buildings. Thirdly, and most importantly, any "religion" that alsters scripture, whether adding to or taking away from is in violation of the scriptures, and is merely a tool of deception. God isnt religious.

Catholics are Christians. So that far, I agree with you, but I think you are as misled as those who mindlessly criticize the Catholic church. There are many real (sic) religions. Christianity is one of them and it has many different denominations and sects, Catholicism being one of the largest ones.
I have some disagreements with your church. I don't believe in infant baptism or that during communion the wine and host magically turn into the actual body and blood of Christ. I think women should be eligible to become priests if that's what they want to do and priests should be allow to marry.
One of the key items in Martin Luther's protests was the issue of indulgences. I don't believe you can slip the church a few bucks to pay for sins you haven't committed yet. Further more, I don't think I have to confess my sins to another human being. If I have sinned, God knows what I've done and if I am truly remorseful for it.
Lastly, what you believe and what I believe are just that, what we BELIEVE. Neither of us can empirically prove what we believe to be fact. So, either one of us, or maybe both of us, could be wrong. Don't be so sure of yourself. Arrogance might be a sin too.

I wholeheartedly agree that people should not attempt to down the faith of another. However you are guilty of the same thing when you say that the Catholic church is the only real religion. Such statements will never bring unity.
Anyone who says you are not "saved" is playing God and in doing so, going against their own faith.
Almost all of my violation notices came after defending the Catholic faith against such attacks.
And I am not even Catholic.

I don't know how to answer your question, but people look down on the catholic church for lots of good reasons. Out of date practices lead preists into molesting choir boys and such. I grew up Catholic, and something similar happened in my church. What is the big deal anyway. It is the CHURCH, not God that people discriminize. They put to much weight on materialistic things.
You will go to hell if you don't donate half your monthly pay to Father Brown's new sportscar!!! Ahem, I meant, the youth group fund!
Confession can happen between just man and God. there does not have to be a go-between. Yet, in the Catholic church, you have to tell a human your deepest dirtiest secrets, so MAN can judge how wrong you were. Man is not the judge, right?
