One can love God first and foremost, and still have plenty of love available for everyone else.
That's the whole point of putting God first. God is love.
It's when we love ourselves more than anything or anyone that we have little or no love remaining for others, or for God.

There is a part 2: Love your neighbor as yourself. That includes your love ones.
Here is the entire answer Jesus give:
Matthew 22:36"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'[b] 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'[c] 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Because you have fell in love does that mean you no longer love, say your parents? or other family members? In the case you describe, there are times to be with your loved one, and times to Be with God. If you quite praying, or fellowshiping with the church so you have more time to spend with whoever, then you may and probably do have a problem.

The funny thing about love is the more you give the more you have. God wanted us to love each other. He made us that way ..remember! God told us to love and marry, to have families..It was all his idea so I am sure he won't be the least bit mad at you.

It is a different kind of love.
Your spouse/mate should be a person that enhances your link with God, and God's blessing makes you both one.
Someone that meets your highest standards can cause you to love them. If they share your ideals of God and family, you are further fortunate.
Accept nothing less.

Most people are capable of loving more than one personality with ALL their heart. This means to love them with pure honesty and sincerity, with unselfishness and goodness. There is plenty of room in every person to do this with "all your heart". If there isn't then it isn't "all your heart". To love more and more is part of what God wants us to do, to love God means he leads you to love your fellow human beings the way Jesus loves you. It is a process to learn to love like that. I hope this helps.

As long as GOD comes before anything else in your life then that is all that matters!! Of course you can love others...For God even says to "Love you neighbors as you love yourself!!" He also says "Do unto other's as you'd have them do unto you!!" So don't read too much into it! He just means If you are going to Love God, then love him in everything that you do! Put Him 1st in your life!!!
