I've read a couple similar questions... this question is probably closest: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqsT1WETWWKKozG64Fxy85lIzKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20070824150631AAagC80

However, I was wondering... I am a Chrisitan but have had a lot of "issues" as I see them. I'm depressed more often than not, and there's other more personal things I don't really want to get into, but I often feel different or can't relate or can't even... nevermind. The point is, I've been in college for 4 years. I had to take a year off for personal reasons and still have about 2 more years to go. It's taking me forever to get thorugh college and I feel a bit guilty about it. Someone told me, "we all have our own path." Whenever people say that to me I feel what i identify as "the Spirit." I feel reassured that I'm going to be okay... and feel momentarily uplifted (till I think about depressing things again). The point being is I have often found that phrase very uplifting.

The best person I can ever be is through his spirit. Unless you have gone what I've been through or see and feel what I do, how can you say he is not here with me?

Why do less than 1/3 of students at Harvard believe in God in a country where 90% do outside of it?

Also, why is the national IQ rising and Christianity declining? Is this just a coincidence?

I know you probably have a lot to pick from, but I bet there's that one gem you will always remember.

Here's one I have got from seconds of research into my history:

"Evolution has been proven to be false."

"because evolution is a relgion that requires more faith to believe than christianity"

"evolution is a lie from Satan †"

"Darwin is an idiot for making up that ridiculous theory."

"If people "evolved" from monkeys, there would be no monkeys."

"Evolution is science fiction."

"Evolution is a lie. Don't even entertain it. Darwin denied his belief in it before he died."

All this ignorance comes from one question sadly enough:

One answerer posted a web page (Dictionary) showing the meaning of God in Aramaic/Hebrew language pronounced as Aloh/Alah. I have heard about it in Peace TV from a great orator Dr. Zakir Naik as well. Now one of my fiercely proud Jewish contact challenges that and says it tantamounts to lieing. Help please.

talk about freedom of religion. in our schools, we are taught that we evolved from apes. HOWEVER, some people do not belive that. Some dont even want to belive it. evolution is being rammed down our throat. isnt that an obstruction of your right to belief ?

so how about this. how about nothing about our existence is taught, NO creationism, NO evolution?

OR

Both could be taught, and kids get to choose what they want to listen to?

first off I will put it out their and say I am a christian. (not mormon, not Jehovah witness, not catholic, just a Christian). i have talked to alot of Athiests online. I personally dont go around trying to convert people because I dont like to. I love God and believe in God but I dont feel the need to tell people unless they ask. its better that way anyway. Anywho my question is this. I know alot of hardcore atheist are set to tell people about the "lies of Christianity and other religions". Now religion brings hope to a hopeless world. I want to know if one of you guys actually got someone to walk away from their religion and became and atheist would you be happy. Would you really feel like you have done somthing better for the world and that person. Let me know how you would feel and please not hostile people, if you are going to answer rudely please dont bother. thank you.

I can't help but think there's got to be some kind of conspiracy to keep us from doing better, more productive atheistic things in favor of spending our precious time on Y!A arguing against the depths of a sea of willful ignorance. There's no /way/ some of the askers here can be this dumb, can they? I've seen some of the worst examples of logical fallacies and the like used in R&S...its like some people seriously turn off their ability to think when they ask questions here. I can't grasp it. It can't be random.

There has to be order to all this chaos, and I believe that it's evidence of an Iniquitous Deviser at work. The conspiracy is real!
