I am not a kid and I have experienced times as bad as anyone else...try holding a daughter as her own child dies...and guess what? We got through it without a need for an imaginary friend.
The reason for my question is that almost every christian on here believes that they would not have got through these times without their god. Who made them believe this? And why?

God did not promise that if we received Him as our Savior that He would give us a great life, He promised us everlasting life. Where as when you become a Christian, your life does have a better direction and a continual walk with the Lord, many times things happen over which we have no control. God will not interfere with our choices in life, therefore we have to suffer the consequences of our actions. The death of a loved one is terrible experience but the knowledge that we will all be together some day, is a blessing.

I can pretty much guarantee that if you haven't yet, you will. With Jesus it is not easy, to get through them, but with Jesus at least we have a refuge that we can go too. I hope when you do, you will already come to know Christ, because without Him, it is more terrible then without Him, and with Him there is hope.
