Parasiva, the Self God, must be realized to be known, does not exist, yet seems to exist; yet existence itself and all states of mind, being and experiential patterns could not exist but for this ultimate reality of God. Such is the great mystery that yogis, rishis, saints and sages have realized through the ages. To discover Parasiva, the yogi penetrates deep into contemplation. As thoughts arise in his mind, mental concepts of the world or of the God he seeks, he silently repeats, "Neti, neti--it is not this; it is not that." His quieted consciousness expands into Satchidananda. He is everywhere, permeating all form in this blissful state. He remembers his goal, which lies beyond bliss, and holds firmly to "Neti, neti--this is not that for which I seek." Through pranayama, through mantra, through tantra, wielding an indomitable will, the last forces of form, time and space subside, as the yogi, deep in nirvikalpa samadhi, merges into Parasiva. The Vedas explain, "Self-resplendent, formless, unoriginated and pure, that all-pervading being is both within and without. He transcends even the transcendent, unmanifest, causal state of the universe." Aum Namah Sivaya.

A good way to answer this question is ny reading the bible and finding the answer for your question! The Lord teached his disciples on how to pray.Prayer is a way of how you can contact him.If you want to contact God, kneel down in a quiet area and pray to the Lord because he is listening. If your in a noisy area and you want to pray to the Lord but have to stay out within that area, just say a prayer in your heart.

We are very near to the SELF but still unaware of the SELF. Once we try to know the self, we can reach to the God which is not other than thyself. Our good deeds can make us God. Self retrospaction can eleminate our evils, and meditation can take us to our soul the highest power on the earth.

We contact God all the time - we are hardwired with communication abilities. What we dwell upon in our heart and in our mind is what we get in this world - it's as simple as that.
As far as hearing God, meditation and yoga allow me to quite my mind enough that I can get inspirations. That seems like hearing the creative power in the Universe to me.
Peace!

The anonymous Carthusian author of "The Cloud of Unknowing" recommended coming into a "naked, blind feeling of your being ... not what you are but that you are," and offering that up to its Source.
He called it "worshiping God with your substance," and he found that in that practice and experience he was worshiping God with God.
He further found that although that experience came to him in contemplative meditation practice, it was ultimately something manifestly available in all activities whatsoever, active or contemplative.

Every time you do something in your life you are talking to God.
For instance:
When you do good things out of kindness, you are telling God by showing in your actions that you care for His way.
When you do something bad that is against God, you are telling God by showing in your actions that you are against Him.
In every importance the actions we live out in our life is the voice we have to communicate with Him. Is the reason why it means a lot to do the things He teaches in His Word. We will be judged according to our deeds.
Isn't it: To show someone you love them, is greater than telling them with words. Same idea goes to you and your relationship you have with God.

Why waste your time, in trying to 'meditate', or 'pray' ?!
God is right here all the time, right within everyone of us - and all you will need to 'contact' Him/Her, is to do some sincere and strictly private soul-searching.
Ask yourself these simple Questions, at each day's close. And 'to thine own self be true', as you Answer them :
...Have you satisfactorily completed all your duties and responsibilities, for the day - both in your home, and workplace ?
...Have you taken care of all the daily needs and necessities of those who are totally, or partially, dependent on you ?
Then, you have already contacted God - and offered your prayers to Him/Her.
...And have you gone out of your way, to bring a warm smile upon the face of someone less fortunate than you are ? Or spent some time in keeping a little child amused and happy ?
Then, you have also pleased God.
...'Heaven' and 'Hell' are not in some realm that one reaches only after death : They are both right here on Earth, and are experienced in our own lifetime itself - as the results of our own daily actions and reactions !

Call His name, talk to Him. He is always there listening. Even if you call on Him in silence.
