The word trinity is not used in the Bible. The trinity is a doctrine that refers to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as one God.
This truth is throughout the Bible but is not named but is revealed through the Holy Spirit.

Ding ding. Answerer #1 got it. It wasn't even a concept during the time the Biblical books were being written. It was sort of an 'emergency' makeover job after the council decreed that Jesus was God. Then they had 2 Gods. Uh oh! Then what to do about the holy spirit? So it's one God, in three 'ousia' (beingness).
And don't let the folks who bring the egg illustration into the argument get over on you either (shell, white, yolk, three parts in one). An egg has divided parts, according to the doctrine, you cannot divide God into parts. Sorry for the rant.

The Trinity is a term that was chosen to represent this and other scriptures:
1Jo 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

GREAT! David S at the very bottom of this forum has given us proof that Christianity has been paganized. he just gave a quote out of the Bible which says "Gods". So basically he must agree that he does not really follow a monotheistic religion. David...I suggest you finally realize that just because the Bible says something, it doesnt mean God said it...because after all, EVERYONE knows that the Bible has been tampered with. Even the Church knows it, they just dont say anything because they feel it will cause doubt among the people

i don't have faith that any Bible certainly has the observe "Godhead" in it. the belief comes from attempting to describe some verses that reference God, Christ (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. maximum call this the Trinity and after lots study all that i can declare is i don't comprehend it. because of this with me it incredibly is a "non-difficulty", meaning what you suspect on the placement may well be precise or this is incorrect and that i don't think of all of us is going to Hell because of the fact they don't comprehend it. it fairly is predicated on the incredibly straightforward strategies of mine hoping God does not condemn be for being incorrect, so i'm hoping that if others who have faith in yet differently then me are incorrect that they receive the grace (mercy) that i'm hoping to receive if i'm in errors.

CC has it right, and not only that: the subject was terribly frustrating for the early Christians. There were some groups of Christians who rejected the trinity concept and were forced to the edges of "official" Christendom for their "heresy."
The Christians managed to confuse themselves over this and all sorts of similar items. They're still confused!

I believe that is a question for God Himself. The word "rapture" is never mentioned in the Bible either, but I believe it will happen.
It is clear that the Bible teaches that there is one God in three persons. I suggest you read the NT account of Jesus' baptism by John.
Also, Genesis says "In the beginning elohim--the Gods--created the heavens and the earth." Why is God referred to in the plural?

"Christianity...[has become] the most perverted system that ever shone on man....Rogueries, absurdities and untruths were perpetrated upon the teachings of Jesus by a large band of dupes and imposters led by Paul, the first great corrupter of the teaching of Jesus." --- Thomas Jefferson
“The son-ship of Jesus Christ is the greatest fiction of human history.” (Lord Bishop of Canterbury Commission, the Spiritual Head of England, 1910.)
“The son-ship of Jesus Christ, the Trinity, the blood sacrifice of the lamb of God, atonement are not the teachings of Jesus. These are all inventions of Saint Paul who never really met Jesus.” (Hastings Rashdall, The Theory of Good and Evil)
"Initially there were 34 gospels that were compiled by word of mouth. Four were chosen for unclear reasons and 30 were left behind [burned]. (Encyclopedia Britannica)
“There is strong reason to believe that St. Paul fabricated the belief system of Christianity from Zoroastrian mythology. In order to hide Paul’s plaigerism… Christians burned the library of Alexandria in 390 A.D. Books in that library kept Mithra’s original story of what Pauline Doctrine is an almost exact copy.
