Does that concern you? The comment suggests you can trust them and they will do a good job but have you found that to be true?

My boyfriend of 2 months said he wants to stop kissing me.

I am in my 20's, have my first boyfriend. I am his first serious girlfriend as well.

We both want to wait till after marriage to have sex, since we both have strong morals and are very religious. He said that he wants to stop kissing me because he gets excited, aroused and tempted. Things run through his mind and wants to take thing further. So he made up this rule to stop kissing me so he wont get tempted, as he feels weak.

How do other couples manage this situation, how do they wait till marriage. What can i tell him. I said that i will try to be the strongest one out of both of us.

Aren't they built to honour somone who specifically taught to give away your earthly possesions and do good works for the poor? How much more could the church do for the poor if weren't hoarding so many earthly possessions?

A little hypocritical ? Now what would jesus think?

Specifically with regards to African-Amiericans during the time of the slave trade. Mankind seemed to be somewhat civilized but with the christians instead of keeping up with the jones it seems they wanted to "own" the jones and have some fun in the slave shack as well

if I was inventing a religion, I'd make "don't think about it!" one of the main principles.

funnily enough, lots of real religions have that idea, too....

a Christian answerer just told me:
"you must not be christian if you have to think about it that much."

I guess so.

thinking? too much? the shame!

oy.

God would have to be a the most brilliant entity ever, but these freaking representative are doing him total injustice.

Why don't they care what a lousy job they are doing in regard to bringing people to Christ.

I want a thoughtful answer on this one, in the light of our society's tolerance of a great deal of privacy and personal freedom... Why exactly should we *care* if it seems like we have had an opportunity to sin? Or for you atheists who haunt this place, to do wrong? It applies equally well whether you think *God* is looking (or exists) or not ;)

we have no spirit,If the spirit of a man has no existence apart from the body, why does Stephen just before his death in Acts 7:59, pray to Jesus to "receive my spirit"? How could Jesus, who was in heaven, receive Stephen's spirit if a man's spirit ceases to exist when the body dies and if no one could enter heaven until the year 1914? Similarly, if the soul ceases to exist after the death of the body, why does Paul say that he would rather be “absent from the body” so he could go make his “home with the Lord” (2Cor 5:8), and why would he say that he would rather depart from this life so that he could go be with Christ (Phil 1:23)? How could Paul be “with Christ” and make his “home with the Lord” if no one could enter heaven until 1914? ,what about enoch, and the chap next to jesus on the cross,in paradise today with me...............

I am a good, happy person who cares about all living creatures. I have a wonderful life. I don't kill, hurt, or steal from anyone. I respect myself and all others. And I help people in need. What can a Christian life provide for me that I don't already have now and why do I need it.

Thanks for your help

Ok. I got a bunch of different answers. Don't you agree that it is an oxy moron to say wordly Christian?

When we say Christian, we are referring to being like Christ. Christ in no way was wordly. He was perfect and was that way till he took upon my sins and everyone elses sin.

So to say wordly Christian is wrong. Would you then call them a wordly believer? They are saved but are wordly in ways. You would not call them a Christian.

Some said that there can not be wordly and saved. I think it is possible, but one can not be like that for long because the Lord chastens. If there is no chastening then there is no salvation. Agree?

Do you understand what I'm trying to explain? I was just made aware of this today in a class I'm taking this week about spiritualmindedness.

If you have any mature comments I openly accept them.

Ps. Purity, I like your answer. Praise God!

We need sex to multiply and also to satisfy our physical and emotional needs. There's nothing sinful about it.
How come that my fellow human beings, the Christians, regard sex as a dirty thing and even consider their own children to have been born from a sinful act?
Why then did they engage in sexual intercourse?
Christians, Jews and Muslims are the most dumb people ever.

this has always bothered me ... how exactly did God do that?

did Mary emit an ovum? was her egg miraculously fertilized by an omnipotent sperm? or was there no egg (or icky sperm)and Baby J was pristinely God-made from nothingness?

where did the 46 chromazones that (in normal circumstances) make a human being come from? did Mary provide a gamete, or what? how did God's gamete present itself?

when did God intervene? how did He do that? did the angel Gabriel "come upon her" (ew!) in anything other than the figurative sense?

how and when - literally, biologically, in one-syllable words of basic reproductive science - did invisible God violate and impregnate this innocent Jewish maid?

My mother died recently and I'm finding it very hard to apply my atheist principals to her death. How should I/ would you as an Atheist deal with death? And what would you stipulate in your will to avoid a religious burial?
