Why don't they care what a lousy job they are doing in regard to bringing people to Christ.

We as Christians should care. However, some of us can't even begin to fathom what it really means to be a Christian. Some of the things we are suppose to speak against, we do ourselves. People read the Bible, remember a few scriptures and will swear up and down, we're holyer than thou.

Christians repeatedly cite "magic" as their explanations for the impossible things that happen in the Bible, they just call it by different names: "Miracle", "God's Power", "God's Mysterious Ways", etc...

They try to dress it up in palatable terms, but in the end it comes down to the same thing: Magic.

How did God make Adam and Eve? Magic. How did the world flood? Magic. How did Noah gather the animals? Magic. How did Joshua stop the sun in the sky? Magic. How did Lazerus come back from the dead? Magic. How did Jesus heal people? Magic. How did snakes, dogs, asses, and other animals talk? Magic.

A Christian who knows God and axcepted him as his / her personal saviour will never give magic as an answer to any question. Magic comes from the devil. God uses miracles. There is a very big difference between magic and miracle. The devil will use something which is not existing to deceive someone and they call it magic. God will use a miracle to explain something or make somebody understand God more and more so he can be drawn near to him. A convented person will never use magic because he knows God, reads the Bible and understands it. Thank you.

God has nothing to do with magic. The word that should come up most about believers is faith. If you are waiting for others to bring people to Christ do you not know we are all to share the good news. How people react to it is up to them because of free will.

Magic is usually attributed to Satan by Christians. OTOH Miracles is a different subject. Lousy job? Agreed 100%

Because organized religion is in many cases a scam. What is important, is that YOU have a relationship with God. It doesn't matter if you're in church when some guy in a goofy looking robe says you have to be, or if you give money to the church.

I like to think of it as one of God's tests.
Organized religions exist as a distraction, and those who can overcome this distraction, and find their own relationship with God are the one's who will be saved.

where do YOU come up with this ?? Magic ?? please explain this more....... go in peace...... God bless
edit- ohhhhhhh, ok, I see too, you wanna go there do ya ?? ok, fine by me....... Christians do NOT use the word magic, YOU put that word there not us....... we mention *faith*, *miracles* , *supernatural* and YOU exchange those words for magic... How convenient for YOU....... In OUR belief God and those who followed were here LONG before the world went against him, and turned to idols and adultry, such as magic and other NON-living gods...... That is what YOU and others do not get, or maybe you do, but you prefer to *twist* it into fitting YOUR life and thoughts, fine and dandy, please feel free to do so, but remember this, I and MANY, MANY others KNOW that God came first, man left HIS ways, NOT the other way around......... Faith in God, THEN heathans came next, they decided to follow their own rules instead of Gods........ what YOU call magic, we call supernatural powers of *faith* in God...... we do NOT use powders, and magic words, or slight of hand....... You can look at it from your angle and ways all you want, and use the word magic all YOU want...... but, please do NOT put words in answers that are NOT there........ go in peace...... God bless

Please, link me to any question where I have answered "magic". Clearly, then, that monolithic "Christians" don't do that.

Let's broaden it: link me to any question in the last twenty-four hours where someone identifying him/herself as Christian (and please, don't use the obvious trolls) has answered "magic".

I'll wait...

Edit: Oh, I see. When you put the word magic in quotes, I assumed you were doing it properly - meaning that that exact word was used. Instead, you meant "anything which seems supernatural to me". So, when I talk about relativity and the Anthropic Principles, that's magic.

Well, you've got me there.
