I see your knowledge of history is on a par with your knowledge of other topics.

Slavery existed long before Christianity. The countries today where it is most active are non-Christian. Some are even Muslim - fancy that.

Yes, Christians have done evil things. Seems to me the same could be said about Muslims. And Jews. And atheists. And, I don't know, people? Christians have also done good things. (insert copy/paste here)

Google William Wilberforce. He was an English politician who successfully fought to get England out of the slave trade. He did this because he was Christian.

However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance... (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)

No...that's not ironic at all. There are many branches of nearly every religion. For example, many "Christian" churches have little to nothing in common with others. Also, I'm agnostic, so this is a completely outside view.

You obviously do not understand what it is to be a Christian. Christianity is not defined by the actions of its followers rather it is its followers ( as flawed as they are) that must rise above their shortcomings to try to meet the standards that God laid out for everyone.

It seems they largely either go with the religion of the slave masters (Christianity) or the religion of the people who sold them into slavery (Islam).

It depends on what is your definition of slavery and what you call freedom.

And I for one, will love to know from you, why you may be calling yourself a free man unlike those who you call slaves?
