I think there is only one God. and all religions worship the same one. They just all worship and perceive him different. Thats where all the different religions came from. People just found out their own ways of worship that felt right to them

Dear bohr...,
When God instructed the believers in Exodus to have no other Gods before Him- he was telling them that God was to be the one that they worshipped above all others- because He is the only true God.
There are times when we make things in our lives "gods" by worshipping them and putting them above God. So he was reminding the Israelites that He was to be their first priority and the object of their "worship".
In terms of your second and third questions-- for a Christian there is no place to determine which one is worse. Both are directions that are not good. One avenue worships false gods, and the other also worships false gods by placing themselves in the place of god. The point is both are far from God and that's never a good thing.
Hope that helps. Kindly,
Nickster

It means that you are to hold God higher than anything else. This not only means denying other religions' false gods but also not to "worship" money, sex, or anything else. It all sums up to where following God should be the number-one priority in your life.

I believe that God was speaking of the "gods" that men made up; the idols that they worshiped as gods(the Golden Calf, for instance). Isaiah 43:10 says, "Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me."

There are no other God's. People create false Gods in their life. It could be money or a car or a spouse or any thing else that you place above Him.

For some, money is a God, or power. I do not think one is worse than the other. Honestly it could be argued either way, but its not for me to judge.

People had idols and worshiped gold cows and considered those things as their god.

1 Timothy 4:1 - Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Ephesians 6:12 - For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
John 8:34 - Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
