What is it about their beliefs that make them any less Christian than any other group? Koresh was strange, but was he a Christian?

Most of the world's major religions recognize only one God, so why does God tell us that we should have no other Gods and that he is a jealous God? Are there many Gods or do we all have different views of the same God?

And not just normal depression but that type of depression that doesn't go away. I'm 19 yrs old & I constantly think about whether there is an afterlife or not. I always subconciously believed in evolution (since like the age of 14), but I denied it so i could live in my happy bubble. Now that bubble has popped and I have no choice but to accept evolution based on the overwhelming facts in support of this theory. I am Catholic, but I'm questioning my faith not because I want to but because it doesn't seem real to me anymore. I can't force myself to believe something that I truly, deep down don't have faith in. That would be fearing and not believing. It scares me and depresses me greatly when I think that I may never see my family or friends again once I die or they die. Also I fear that the lights go out and thats it---no more feeling or thinking or anything. I'm suicidal over this. Is there even a chance of an afterlife? Can evolution correlate with Christianity? Help me please!!!!!

An earlier question asked if people in heaven would remember loved ones that didn't make it. Many answered that you simply wouldn't remember.

So does this mean that god will force you to forget? Isn't that an invasion of the worst kind? In a sense, a raping of the mind? How is that free will?

In the same vein, will people that are after the second coming (there will still be births right?) have the potential to sin? Or will god get rid of the possibility? If you say yes, then why did god allow sin in the first place? Why give free will at one point, let us suffer, then take it away later?

To me, it sounds like he was bored... but then will someday decide we went through enough and will cancel the drama. Hmmm, maybe he'll even be nice enough to let us stick around and watch the next round of fun. He did it for the angels right?

I have been reading much about the chance of life existing elsewhere in the universe. There seems to be a prevailing opinion that this is likely.

If we find life on another planet or moon in our solar system, will this change the way you view God and humanity's place in the universe?

Thanks

Not long after the Lord Jesus said in John 14 that He was sending the Comforter He proceeds to speak something altogether marveleous.

John 14:23
" Jesus answered and said to him, If anyone loves Me he will keep My word and My Father will love him, and WE will come to him and make an abode with him"

JOhn 14:26
" But when the Comforter comes whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of reality, who proceeds from the Father, He will testify concerning ME"

The greek word" From" as in from the Father has the sense of " from with"

These two verses together in John are very precious. They show that the Father and Son are making an abode with us.. We know that our bodies is the Temple of the Holy Spirit.. and that the Spirit indwells us.
Share something on these verses put forward and how you see this matter.
Share any verses to strengthen your input.

After all the church and the state are dealing with the same "commodity", and that is us the people, our body and spirit. The spirit cannot exist without the body and the body cannot exist without the spirit - unless you are dead. What happens when there is conflict between corporal and spiritual laws such as abortion?

I read in a post recently that Christianity is on the way "out", along with the other monotheistic faiths. It was also indicated that we are finally on our way to a society in which we can all agree that there is more than one truth about faith.

As a Pagan, I believe that this is indeed an attitude that is desperately needed in our society. Too much hate, death and war has been perpetrated all in the man of "God". I think it is a thought pattern that can be completely healthy and inspirational in a society where our biggest problem between us seems to be based around religion.

Do you agree that this is our future, and do you believe it will be helpful or more detrimental than the patterns we are already in?

judging from the level of derision and mockery i see in this forum, i'd say we're almost there. this does NOT mean however, that i think christianity will be bidding us a fond adieu anytime soon. on the contrary, i believe we must step up our efforts and take advantage of the headway we are making. keep up the good work! keep pointing out the facts, evidence , contradictions, impossibilities, outright fabrications and paradoxes that make christianity such an easy target for dismissal.

Ephesians 2:22
" In whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in spirit"

Expound on this verse for me please.
Its a very deep verse in the bible related to the Church. Ephesians is a book on the Church in 6 aspects. One aspect for each chapter.
Please use any other references to strengthen your points.

To start things off, I am a Christian and I love the Lord. I also have a great sense of humor, and I am a little saddened that a few of my fellow Christians couldn't see the humor in the question I asked earlier. So much of the time this forum gets pretty "tough", and I don't know why there can't be a little "light-hearted" humor once in a while. I didn't "bash" Christianity, or for that matter any faith at all. What is wrong with seeing the "lighter" side of each of our RELIGIONS or non religions. Religion is not whether or not you believe in God. Loving God and believing in Him is. So for my fellow Christians whom I have offended, all I can say is, read the questions again. I in no way mocked God or my faith. Keep in mind, that if you truely love the Lord, you will remember that it is God who gave us humor after all. Remember, He's got one too.

On Earth, there are approximately 4,500 species of mammals, 2,500 species of amphibians, and 1,700 species of rodents.

(Not counting birds, fish, or reptiles! If my calculations are correct..)

It would add up to 8,700. But we have to double it for pairs, which would be 17,400 mammals!

So how did Noah fit 17,400 mammals onto his ark?
Wouldn't it sink? How would he provide food for all of them..for 40 days? Where would he get food? How would the penguins survive? How was he able to put 17,400 mammals back into their own natural habitats? By science, it has been proven illogical, various, various, various number of times. The only logical explanation is that it never happened.
