It doesn't say.
People just traditionally say 3, because of the gifts they brought:
Gold, Frankincense, myrrh
Cool about that.. Gold for a King, Frankincense for God, Myrrh for the annointing of the dead. I think that's amazing.

None. Jesus was around 2 years old when the Magi came to visit.
The Bible doesn't say how many there were, but does mention 3 gifts, so tradition says there were 3 Magi.

Magi is the plural, Mage is singular. I think there are enough people pointing out that they are not actually numbered. The three wisemen also appear as the Three Nobles in the story of Horus, as well as the story of Mithra and most of the other Solar cults This along with the reference to the east seems to indicate they might have been a reference to the three stars that make up the belt of Orion.

Really no one knows. One thing, back then 3 people with any money would have most likely been robbed. So, there would have been a large group traveling together for safe passage. Though all of the group were probably not Magi.

None. The number of pagan Magi who came to see Jesus is never revealed and by the time they had informed Herod about Jesus and then went to him he was already a few years old.

The 3 kinds of GIFTS were mentioned. However, the number of magi was not. They came when he was a young child. It says they came unto the house where the young child was. They were not there on the day of birth--no supersonic camels. (LOL) They saw the star and travelled to see the child.

He was born in Bethlehem when his parents had to report there for a census. Then his dad took them to Egypt for 2 years to escape Herod. When they moved back, they relocated to Nazareth. It was considered like New Jersey back then. For whatever reason, lots of people felt like Nazareth was an "armpit" city. There was a phrase that went "can anything good come from Nazareth?" meaning people didn't respect Jesus because he lived on the wrong side of the tracks.

Tradition holds it to be three, but truly it is not known the exact number. Three is tradition because the Bible does say that 3 gifts (at least) were brought . Matthew 2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

Tradition says three but I don't believe an exact number is mentioned in the Bible. Without looking it up that is as specific as I can get.
