You hate the sin that the sinner commits but you continue to love the sinner as a person. You don't have to like what a person does to love the person themself.

It means that we are to love everyone, unconditionally... even those who are sinning against God or against themselves.

We need to hate the evil things that they (and we) do, but remember that people sin because they aren't perfect. Nobody is perfect, so everybody sins. Yes, this includes Christians.

So love everyone... atheists, homosexuals, even other Christians (sometimes a hard bunch of people to love, I'll grant you that). But hate sin.

Here's an example to bring it down to earth: the Bible calls envy a sin (or pick your own sin). So we hate envy, but we still love the people who are envious. It is God's love that conquers all, and when that love is shared with those people, the grace appeals to people. Instead of being rejected, they find acceptance, which can allow them to leave their sins behind.

I hope this makes sense.

I don't recommend you hate anything. Including evil. You should love good and shun evil, but don't hate it. Once you start hating evil, it's too easy to hate those who do evil. And once you start hating people, that's when you truly become lost.

The better way to say it is to judge the sin not the sinner. That's where you basically see the wrong for what it is. But you look at the person the same way God does... as his own child.

Hate sin: do not desire to do something that's sinful.

Love the sinner: realise that you are not perfect either (a sinner) and treat the others as you would have them treat you.

You would like to be loved, wouldn't you? In spite of not being perfect yourself.

God loves each person no matter what they do. He made the person, the personality was literally designed by God for each person. But because Adam and Eve chose to sin in the garden of Eden, they brought sin into the hearts of all mankind. It isn't the way God designed it, and when a person sins most of the time demonic forces temp them or prod them into it. Man may make the choice to allow sin in, but sin is from Satan. so we hate the evil things people do. We hate when there is murder, abuse, and theft, but we still love those people who commit the crimes. We know that they let that sin take over their lives, but the sin doesn't come from their hearts it comes from the devil. It is hard to love people when they sin, and we can't always accept them for fear of harm, but we can always still love them.

We are not to "love" or "like" sin but we are to LOVE everyone despite the fact that they may be sinners.

Jesus said that we are to love one another. that others may know we are Christians by our love.

it means, though we see or a person living in sin or with sin, like perhaps , a thief, we are to hate the stealing, but love the stealer.

& so on for an adulterer or a liar & etc.

we were the ones Christ died for &"" While we were yet in sin Christ died for us", he loved us enough to take our sin debt, both now & forever, on himself,
even though he hated the sin.

it is wonderful , isn't it?

I think it means you should love everyone but hate their actions. The Bible instructs us to tell others about Salvation. That would make some people change their ways a bit.

God has created all Humans as equals, Its there deeds, action or doings that differ. Love a good deed from a bad one, but don't hate the doer as it closes the doors of reforming.
