Mary gave birth to her creator, Jesus was , as St Thomas said in the bible,"My Lord and My God!" Elizabeth said, "How is it that the mother of my Lord should come to me?" It is a statement of faith. Jesus is God. Just because you cannot understand how the trinity is possible with your human intellect, dont make it untrue, there is no person who can fully understand God, if we could he wouldnt be God. We make the intellectual assent of faith by claiming that Mary was themother of God. This is biblical. Mary giving birth to a nature is not truth. mothers give birth to persons, this mother gave birth to God, who was called Jesus, or Emmanuel meaning God is with us.

Someday, men wearing $2,000 suits, and $100 silk ties, and $500 dollar shoes will be prancing around on a stage screaming at the top of their lungs that ..... "these words are the inerrant words of God"?

In short: How would you feel if your were writing a Novel and thought that someday a future civilization would declare your words as "the word of God"?

In short, the guy was forced into bankruptcy by Scientologists for pointing out that they break laws by making unlawful medical claims, and in response, he began picketing outside of a Scientologist facility...

This protesting of course then got him arrested and thrown in jail, which included a considerable amount of solitary confinement. He is finally out of jail, but now seems to be rather depressed and nihlistic, having lost all faith in the legal system as well as humanity... Any ideas you would like to convey to him to (hopefully) cheer him up?

If there's anything that irks me in Yahoo besides slander against Catholicism, its people who tell other people they are going to hell. That really torques me.

Only God decides who is going to hell. I hear people saying Muslims are going to hell, Catholics too, the pope is burning in hell, etc. etc.
I'm a tradiotional Catholic, and Bible believing to the core, but I can NEVER bluntly tell someone they are going to hell, and neither can you.

SCENARIO: A Muslim child lives in a desert village, never hears about Christ, and dies at age 9. He was always a good boy. Is he going to hell? OF COURSE NOT! If you think he is then you are insane. If he goes to heaven, will it be because of the sacrifice of Christ? Yes, I believe it will be. But, God can apply the salvation Christ won for us to whomever He chooses.

Comments anyone? Does anyone feel like I do?

Colossians 4:6 (RSV),
“Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt.”

When you cook a meal, the flavoring is not the meat, but it sure makes the meat taste better. The same is true for what your daily life speaks and preaches .

"A man got religion, and asked the priest what he must do to be worthy of his new estate. The priest said, "Imitate our Father in Heaven, learn to be like him." The man studied his Bible diligently and thoroughly and understandingly, and then with prayers for heavenly guidance instituted his imitations. He tricked his wife into falling downstairs, and she broke her back and became a paralytic for life; he betrayed his brother into the hands of a sharper, who robbed him of his all and landed him in the almshouse; he inoculated one son with hookworms, another with the sleeping sickness, another with gonorrhea; he furnished one daughter with scarlet fever and ushered her into her teens deaf, dumb, and blind for life; and after helping a rascal seduce the remaining one, he closed his doors against her and she died in a brothel cursing him.

I've heard that Mormons believe in a "Queen of Heaven" or something similar. Basically, the wife of God.

First, is this true? And if it is...

Is this entity supposed to be an aspect of the Holy Spirit?
Is it involved in the "Father-Son-Holy Spirit" "trinity" concept in any way?
Is she considered to be a separate Goddess or is she considered to be sort of "part" of God?

Also, how much importance is placed on her in Mormonism?

Any other information of interest on this subject would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have been told that Temple of Set is not Satanism like the Church of Church of Satan founded by Anton Le Vey. I know there was some kind of schism between these two organizations. Does anyone know the philosophical differences between Temple of Set and Church of Satan? They seem the same to me.

confessor, and that her dying wish was that they be kept private? According to church law, "the sacramental seal is inviolable; therefore it is absolutely forbidden for a confessor to betray in any way a penitent in words or in manner and for any reason." Its interesting that the book's subtitle is:The PRIVATE writings of the Saint of Calcutta. My question:why wasn't Teresa's request honored, and for what possible reason could the Vatican have allowed the breaking of a centuries old church law? Your thoughtful answers will be appreciated.
