Colossians 4:6 (RSV),
“Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt.”

When you cook a meal, the flavoring is not the meat, but it sure makes the meat taste better. The same is true for what your daily life speaks and preaches .

We need to be salt to season the Word...so when we speak, it is good in the ear, and nourishes the soul. We are also to be light, leading the way out of darkness.

Here are several verses dealing with salt, hon. I hope this helps!

(Exodus 30:34) Mix equal amounts of the costly spices stacte, onycha, galbanum, and pure frankincense, then add salt to make the mixture pure and holy.

(Leviticus 2:13) Salt is offered when you make an agreement with me, so sprinkle salt on these sacrifices.

(2nd Kings 2:20-21) He replied, "Put some salt in a new bowl and bring it to me." They brought him the bowl of salt, and he carried it to the spring. He threw the salt into the water and said, "The LORD has made this water pure again. From now on you'll be able to grow crops, and no one will starve."

(Job 6:6 ) What is food without salt? What is more tasteless than the white of an egg?

(Ezekiel 43:24 ) and bring them to my temple. The priests will sprinkle salt on them and offer them as sacrifices to please me.

(Ezekiel 47:8 ) The man said: This water flows eastward to the Jordan River valley and empties into the Dead Sea, where it turns the salt water into fresh water.

(Ezekiel 47:11 ) But the marshes along the shore will remain salty, so that people can use the salt from them.

(Matthew 5:13 ) You are like salt for everyone on earth. But if salt no longer tastes like salt, how can it make food salty? All it is good for is to be thrown out and walked on.

(Mark 9:50 ) Salt is good. But if it no longer tastes like salt, how can it be made salty again? Have salt among you and live at peace with each other.

(Luke 14:34) Salt is good, but if it no longer tastes like salt, how can it be made to taste salty again?

(James 3:12) Can a fig tree produce olives or a grapevine produce figs? Does fresh water come from a well full of salt water?

Peace.

It says we are the salt of the world. That salt would lose it's taste and become saltless if we don't proclaim, right?

Well either way I'm glad the Lord used the salt analogy rather than pepper.....now that would've been weird.

Yeah, but God turned Lot's wife into salt so it's pretty much an abominable seasoning that should be avoided at all costs unless you want to be rained down upon with fire and brimstones.

well Lot's wife sure gave Lot a salty taste. and your barbaric adulterous god is a mythological character so why would anyone with rational thinking care what a fictitious character said anyway.

Santa is returning soon, are you prepared?!
