When we talk about the Trinity, we are talking about God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Understand, though, that this is not 3 gods, for there is but one God.

But just as you live in a body, and you have a soul and you have a spirit, the body is not the soul, nor is the spirit the body, but there is only one of you.

You can see this same illustrated in time - past, present, future, but only one time line.

You can also see this in space. For instance, a box has a length, a width, and a height. The box might be 3 inches wide, and 4 inches long, and 5 inches high, but it is only one box.

What it all means is that before Jesus was born, He was always God. John 1:1 says it like this: "In the beginning was the Word. The Word was WITH God, and the Word WAS God." then in vs 17 we read, "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us: (that was Jesus).

The Blessed Trinity is the one, true God. Our earthy families are created in the image and likeness of the eternal, true, and perfect family: The Holy Trinity. God is one, but isn't a solitude (alone), because God is a family of self-giving life and love between The Father and The Son, their love is so real, that the person of the Holy Spirit proceeds from both. In marriage, the mystery of the Holy Trinity is revealed, when a man and a woman give their life and love to eachother in intercourse, their love is so real that 9 months later it is a boy/girl. If this was a test Given By God; You Never Would PASS IT because the idea of a trinity is of pagan origins and was in existence centuries before (the birth of Jesus Christ); in the Ancient City of Babylon

Teachings from the Very Ancient city of Babylon such as the immortality of the soul; hellfire; TRINITY; etc have survived to this day to such a Great degree that the Book of Revelation speaks of a BABYLON THE GREAT ! ! !

a long time ago protestants did not believe in the trinity due to the word trinity not being in the bible. But the catholic church always believed in the trinity, and brought trinity forth as a dogma of truth for the entire world to see.
The trinity is 3 divine persons in only one, the father and the son are one, the bible says as much. the holy spirit is the love between them all and is equal to them in divinity and holiness.
