...and which planet does God's God live on?

slo18: Indeed they do, and they think God is not the ultimate God and was once like you. Just as weird as normal Christian stuff to me but you might find it amusing.

Geez. Haven't you ever seen Battlestar Galactica? It's supposed to be at the center of the galaxy, so it's always day. I imagine the radiation would be pretty intense as well.

Abraham wrote that he received instruction on astronomy from God. He saw many planets and stars. Abraham 3:9 (LDS Pearl of Great Price) indicates that there is a major star named Kolob near the throne of God. It does not say that the throne is on a planet. Kolob and planets are not an important part of LDS theology. Earth and heaven are. What "The God Makers" does is to utterly distort LDS teachings to suggest we believe in extraterrestials and sci-fi stuff. You could attend hundreds of sacrament readings and read thousands of LDS talks without getting any of the "sci-fi" stuff because it is not what the Church is about. We do believe that God is real. We believe the Bible when it says that Christ, who is one with God, received a physical body and was resurrected and showed his immortal, resurrected body to others (Luke 24: 36-39). He is omnipotent, and his influence is everywhere, but there are actual places where actual beings actually reside, and heaven is an actual place. The throne of God, based on Abr. 3, is somewhere, and that somewhere has a large star nearby. Again, this kind of "realness" bothers a lot of people, but it really shouldn't.

Kolob is part of the Bear constellation. Look to the right of the North Star and you will see the Mormon Big Dipper. Follow the two stars of the right hand side of the Big Dipper up 180 degrees. By now you should be looking behind you, and there you will see The Bear.

There is some great information about Kolob here:

It is exclusive to Mormonism but they want people to believe that there is scientific proof that backs up Joseph Smith's translations.

Yea, they also believe that God had a son on earth, that come back to life after he died. They think that this guy had super powers and brought dead people back to life. That he died, came back to life, went to heaven and then came to the Americas. They also believe that one day it rained so hard that the earth was covered with water.

I'm telling you, those fools believe in some crazy shewshew. But even after all that craziness, I can't believe this stuff that God lives near a star called Kolob. Holy Mormon Cow! You just floored me. Wow!

I do believe it's that Kolob is the star closest to where God is. Whether that is a planet or not, I don't know, nor does anyone else, including you.

IF it's a planet, it's perfect in every way.

If you depart the ignorance you have just displayed and re-read your links you will find:

God the Father lives on Kolob. not near it.

What's it like? maybe you will find out someday.

I would rather believe in eternal progression and gaining all that my father has, than believe that after I die I will sit on a cloud and strum a harp for eternity

Grow up and re-read 1st Corinthians if you want to cite Biblical References and Argue a Point

Don't pick on the poor Mormons - when the big one hits, guess whose door you will be knocking on asking for food! (Just don't ask for any coffee - they won't have it.)
