Someday, men wearing $2,000 suits, and $100 silk ties, and $500 dollar shoes will be prancing around on a stage screaming at the top of their lungs that ..... "these words are the inerrant words of God"?
In short: How would you feel if your were writing a Novel and thought that someday a future civilization would declare your words as "the word of God"?

For a second there when you said .... "Someday, men wearing $2,000 suits, and $100 silk ties, and $500 dollar shoes will be prancing around on a stage screaming at the top of their lungs that ........ "
I had a mental image of Mick Jagger singing "start me up" ...
Pity you digressed Uncle.... but I agree entirely with the possibility that there is the potential that a learned person would write another "A Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Universe" as a parody on civil living and read passages of it every day off to less literate listeners.
hmmmm .. Bring your Towel, Mr Potter.

Jesus said, the Pharisee's wearing their rich garb had never read the book of the law. Matt.23:1-7;
So the talk was that Abraham was their father, Jesus told them Satan the Devil that had been a liar and a murderer from the beginning was their father.
John 8:44;
Writing a scroll to put forth the law of the land and the law of God and having some one read it is two different things. Having those that understand it when they do read it is another Luke 16:14 - 31; WHO UNDERSTANDS THIS?
Luke 16:16,17,29,31; No such exist in the book of the law, 14.15.18-28,30; so where does it exist and who will understand? Is Jesus reading the hearts and minds of the Pharisee leaders, do they think they are so blessed and so rich, that if there was a Lazarus in that condition, they had a right to by pass him as if he is no part of Abraham. Abraham bosom is not heaven, but by Abraham all is blessed Heb.2:9,14,16; Jesus is that seed of Abraham.

If I was the one writing the scroll, I would realize that the days when men wore $2,000 suits, and $100 silk ties, and $500 shoes, were the days I was writing about.

If I were writing a novel and had any inkling that it would lead persons into false religion by taking my words as God's, I would burn it.
The 40 men whom God used to write the Bible, wrote under the inspiration of holy spirit. They wrote God's words, not their own. No novel could ever truthfully make such a claim.

You tag "writing" to the Bible. What about the Quran, isnt it in writing? What about all the other religions - their teaching not written in books?. You can believe in God in your own way and you will feel a lot better if you accept that God is "very personal". Believe or not, it is all up to you. You wont go to hell with me if you dont earn it.

I'd make the novel as interesting as possible, and hope they'd obey my writings ;)
