Well, the question below about an Athiestic marriage got me thinking. What about Wiccan marriage? (I've asked a similar question before but... didn't get a good answer. I had worded the questions very strangely).

Anyways, Wiccans generally have a handfasting. But handfastings don't legally join you.

I know you could have a Justice of Peace or a judge marry you, but how would you, as wiccans, go about it?

Would you not have a handfasting, and just have the Justice of Peace marry you?

Would you just do a handfasting and not be legally joined at all?

Would you do a handfasting ceremony, then go over to the Justice of Peace and have him marry you by law?

Of course, the decison would also be based on your partner's religion too. But I'm just curious how other Wiccans were married.

I have seen profiles made to promote attacking atheists. Now why is it allowed that others are completely allowed to create profiles that promote to harm christians. If it simply promoted atheism,or anything else , that is one thing, but it directly violates a clause in the terms of use:"is patently offensive and promotes racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual;"

How in the world can this be allowed I thought myspace doesnt take sides. Why is their so much overlooking with people harming christians.

I know alot who are going to respond to this question will make something to say that they are alot to do so. They arent aloud to do what ever they want, Iam not so why should they?

IF THIS IS TOO LONG FOR YOU THEN DON’T READ IT!!
I just had a heart to heart with God a few minutes ago. I told him I honestly didn’t know what I wanted, I’m 21 years old and I have never been with anybody in my life, kind of makes you loose all hope after a while doesn’t it. I am so pissed at the man whose suppose to be my soul mate, I’ve been everywhere, work, city bus, mall, college, store still nobody. I went to a wedding last Saturday, it was the most beautiful I had ever seen but my jealousy took over, I wanted to be in that bride’s place I wanted to experience what it would be like to walk down the aisle with my father and to the man of my dreams. To cut the cake to throw the flower at the girls, to make invitations, when I got home I realized I was never going to be with anybody. My grandparents and parents got married at 21 I lost all hope. I don’t want to be married at 25 or 29 and be 50 years old by the time my child is only 10 years old. I have stopped caring about my appearance lately since I don’t really have anybody to look good for. I don’t really pray much about it that much because I find it very difficult to do so, asking for a man is so hard to me probably because I feel it will never happened, I asked God to show me a sign, but I still feel so uneasy, I have already accepted the fact I will stay single, but what I wanted to ask was, where in the bible does it mention the gift of singleness?

Which is the greater "sin"? :

A Christian teenager who has premarital sex?
A Christian man having an affair?
A Christian women who is divorced and remarried
Etc, etc...

Or

A non-religious homosexual person just being him/herself?

"Let he who hath not sinned, cast the first stone."
Isn't that what your own Jesus of Nazareth teaches/taught?

I would just like to know your viewpoint on Islam. Christians are taught to love thy enemies, or anyone for that matter (ISLAM IS NOT AN ENEMY OF CHRISTIANITY) so i would like to see if the saying is refletced in the answers...

Sum of my questions for Christians are :
-- Do you think Islam is an violent and intolerant religion?
--Have you ever met a muslim, and if so, how was he (ex: peaceful, kind generous warm, mean rude..?)
--Overall, what do you think of muslims and Islam..

I am a muslim myself, and am not trying to create any tension between both sides... i just want to know the viewpoint regarding Islam..

Thxs for all your answers everyone!!

I'm not religious actually I dont believe in a higher being whatsoever. I just find it hard to believe all together and I really don't feel like trying. Am I a bad person? If later I have a realization and do believe in a higher power will my sins be atoned for?

My Question is does all this new found code not just in the bible but in other great books such as moby dick for example mean what i think it means that if we are now just scratching the surface of computers and thru them finding very accurate code, does that mean that we are in some kind of program. For are not programs made up of code. So now if we are in a program can we change the program. It has been said that if you went back in time and tried to change something like say assasinate hitler, that even if you had him in your sights and was a sharp shooter your gun would not fire and that in fact you couldn't change history. So why is that I'll tell you why cause we are living in a program one that can't be changed. But with the coming together of all it just may be able to be altered just a little bit enough to give us all a fighting chance and to let us write the program a new. I say this because according to bible code we don't have much time left. So can man make a stand can he

Who receive the rightful inheritance, Jacob the liar or Esau?

Isaac was blind; he gave the rightful inheritance to Esau, NOT Jacob. Isaac asked God to bless Esau, not Jacob. Even Esau wasn’t present, God blessed Esau, God isn’t blind. Esau doesn’t have to be next to God to receive the blessing.
God forgives through repentance. Jacob should have REPENTED and returned what he had stole from his brother Esau TO OBTAIN FORGIVENESS AND BLESSING? Jacob stole the inheritance of the Promised Land.

IN MODERN DAYS, should the Promised Land be returned to its original successor in according for the Hebrew “Jacob-ites” receive forgiveness and blessing?

I hear all the time, the father son and holy ghost.
Even if you downplay it to 2 deities, the father and son, its still multiple gods.
How do rectify your ignorance about your religion.
At least pagans are honest about the plurality of their deities.
How about showing some genuine sincerity in your answer, Christianity.

I remember reading a passage in the bible that said something like, it's because God can show himself through our weakness; that through God we are strong when we are weak...

But surely, in the times we are living in now; you may as well throw yourself to the wolves if you are weak!

What about our children? You can not be weak when you have children to bring up!

Maybe someone can explain to me? Please be nice!

I'm doing a questionnaire for my Religious Studies class, and I'd thought I'd ask here, since people here are generally very nice, very quick, and very informative.

So here are the questions. I am genuinely interested in this stuff, and not doing it just for homework. If you have more you want to add, then that's more than welcome, since every little helps! :)

1) First of all, which religion would you say you belong to?

2) If you lack belief in God, what led you to come to that conclusion?

3) If you are religious, do you think your upbringing highly affected what you believe in? (e.g. your parents' beliefs)

4) Have you explored any other religions deeply?

5) What is your faith to you? Have you ever had doubts, and, if so, how did you regain your faith?

6) What do you think of other religions? How do you know your religion is the right one?

I'd ask more, but there's a char limit. D: Oh well. It shall be interesting to hear the replies! :)

for their own interpretation and reasoning?
I saw an answer where someone responded that homosexuality is not a sin in the Bible. Where does this logic come from? If God calls something an abomination, this is a terrible wrong. It also mentions in the NT that He gave them over to believe the lie. Is lying not a sin?
So, how does God NOT call something a sin when He says it is a wrong? It is not for us to manipulate Scripture for our pleasure, it is their for our teaching and correcting for our relationship with God.

I'm not getting married anytime soon, but I am an atheist and I was wondering how our marriages go about. My family is mostly Catholic so I've been to plenty of Catholic weddings, but would an atheistic wedding have a priest? Just wondering, and let's not be sarcastic because this is one of my few serious questions :)

I have a dillema,

I want to be closer to God, but I have OCD (I'm on medication) and I can't stop thinming negatively. I pray to God to take these thoughts away, but they keep bothering me.

These thoughts are along the lines of "You only want to be close to God for attention", "You don't really believe in God."
"You don't have enough faith" and thoughts that just make me feel down and disappointed.

Then I pray to God to stop them, but when they don't go away, I get really frustrated and don't WANT a relationship.

But I do, yet I can't stop thinking that "All I really want is the IDEA of the religion and relationship" which I'm finding to be true!

But thats not what I trully want or need, and even now, My body automatically "feels down" when I even think about wanting a relationship!

I need help!

P.S: Atheists, I appreciate your concern, but I'm convinced in my own self that there must be a God somewhere. This question is directed at fellow-God followers.
