The body wearing out is among the worst attributes of growing older. All my years in the Army Airborne is now taking its toll on my knees and shoulders, plus the many times I went down on a motorcycle.

There are a few regrets made that were terrible choices in my life--some I wish had never happened, but I cannot change them.

Health-wise I am good for my age and financial stability is fixed, but not enriching. I don't get lonely because I have lots of things to do, such as guitar teaching and Church work.

The best thing about growing old? Being retired and having time and less money to do those things long desired.

I missed WWII, but caught on the end of Korea and the beginnings of Vietnam.

Nothing's bad about it so far as I can tell, except feeling all the times I went over the handlebars of a motorcycle, bucked off a horse, dropped an anvil on my foot. The body wearing out is the only price of being old.

The best thing about it is not having to be young.

i don't think you'll find too many WWII era folks on line - they are generally not the conputer type - they like to sit with friends adn family and not on a computer - generally. think about it - their ages arenn't really up for the computer. you might want to check out local VFW's, churches and (sadly) nursing homes if you'r really interested.

*what i see & have talked about with my family members of that era - failing health and being dependant upon the family is the biggest challenge. finances - they've lived through worse so even poor bank accounts don't really challenge them. the best is being alove and having lived a wonderful life & having family and friends who love and care for them.

The problem with getting old is that you wish you had the energy you had when you were young, and the wisdom you have when you're older.
You know you're old when your wife tries to sell you on Antiques Roadshow.
