It isn't good to be weak. We are meant to be strong. However, in and of ourselves we are generally quite weak. This is why we need Christ's Atonement so badly. He can strengthen us. This scripture may help:
27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.
Many people (I haven't met a person that doesn't) have an ability to do certain things - that is, certain strengths which they seem to need no training in. We are all strong in some ways and weak in many others. Our weaknesses can be turned into strengths through the Atonement, no matter what the weakness is. I know this to be true.

I'm glad PickleJuiceOnRye actually answered the question. As Paul states, it requires us to be dependent upon God - and God is far stronger than any human at his strongest.
You do not throw yourself to the wolves if you are weak, you should throw yourself to God. *That* is the point. Normally, "the strong" feel no need to do this.
Yes, you can be weak when you have children to bring up. God must be your strength.
Jim, weak enough to need God and not ashamed to admit it.

We are all weak in one form or another. It is impossible for imperfect man to be strong in every detail.
Here is an illustration. Do you remember Sen. John McCain's walk down a street in Baghdad some months ago? Which would you rather do? Walk down a dark alley alone or walk it with a US Marine division beside you? Personally I try to avoid dark alleys entirely, but if I have to go, bring friends.
The Bible shows if we are Jehovah's friend, who can stand against us? It is like having the biggest, baddest hero on your side. Who is going to bother you? If you do get hurt, who better to have around remembering you than One who can resurrect the dead to full life.
With such strength of your side, anything would be considered relatively weak. In this sense, weak would not be bad.
I thought I was nice.

God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
1 Corinthians 1:27
I was given a thorn in my flesh, to torment me and keep me from becoming proud.
Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said,
“My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.”
So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses,
and in the insults,
hardships,
persecutions,
and troubles that I suffer for Christ.
For when I am weak, then I am strong.
2 Corinthians 12:8-10

By remaining humble we allow God to be God. When someone does something to us, our first reaction is to get even. Now doesnt that make you just as bad as the person that did something to you. We must remain humble at all times to receive Gods love and blessings. This is not weakness. The bible states that if you see someone cold, give them your coat. And to just turn the other cheek when someone offends you. This allows us to be God like, because after all,we are created in his image. Jesus plainly said, be not concerned of the things of this world. keep your eyes focus on the kingdom and everything else will be added unto you.Allow God to take care of you and your children. When we stay out of self will, we allow God to do his will. All you need is the faifth of a mustard seed.

Let's say you are very strong without any issues or problems in life right? What testimony for others would your life be when God called you? God takes the weak and makes them strong thereby edifying the Kingdom of God and other believers in the body of Christ. The moment we understand that all this isn't really about us but about God is when things start clicking. Paul said he died daily for Christ sounds weak but have you read what he wrote? Amazing man Paul was. Make sense?

In weakness, Christians look to G for strength. The proof that G is our strength is that believing in Him blesses us with the strength we need to survive. You cannot be weak and raise children, but the challenges raising children has, may make us feel weak, and we turn to G again for His strength to help us make it through. So it is good to be weak - that is how we remember to turn to G for strength.

Being weak in the sense that the bible refers to is to be dependent on God's strength and His will. It is good to be weak, because we need to lean on the Lord through all our trials in life.

the scripture isn't telling us that it is "good" to be weak, but that we are. we are in no way comparable to God's strength. The scripture that you are refering to is a sign of comfort. we know we get into situations we can't handle and sometimes we just feel depressed, but the Lord is strong and good; "He can move the mountains." what He is showing us, is that though we are weak, He is strong and He can move through us so that we can overcome whatever is going on in our lives by His strength and faithfullness.
=) i like that you are seeking answers. and a lot of them can be answered in the Word. He loves you, and i pray that He uses me to help you understand Him deeper.

we all have a weakness. It may be strength, or love, or family, or emotions....we have a weakness. It's human to have a weakness. When we need that extra hand, that extra push...God is there. That's how I interpret it.
