How come some Christians manipulate the Bible...?

I saw an answer where someone responded that homosexuality is not a sin in the Bible. Where does this logic come from? If God calls something an abomination, this is a terrible wrong. It also mentions in the NT that He gave them over to believe the lie. Is lying not a sin?
So, how does God NOT call something a sin when He says it is a wrong? It is not for us to manipulate Scripture for our pleasure, it is their for our teaching and correcting for our relationship with God.

It's not just Christians that "manipulate" the Bible....interpret it to their own liking....but that pretty much says why they do it right there. If they take the Bible as it reads, they will have to change their lifestyle, if they want to call themselves Bible-based Christians, that is. Much easier to change the interpretation.

But like I said, it's not just Christians that "manipulate" the Bible. I've heard and read non-Christians using the Bible to try and "stump" Christians, create an argument, defend their non-belief.

In fact.....why in the world do atheists or agnostics ever visit a site labeled "Religion & Spirituality" in the first place?
