Assuming the question of course. Why would someone include the rest - the other nations - half way through, when Jesus came?
Is there a Christian explanation?

Hi folks. Just wanted to ask something. At what point do the component gametes become things that ineffably deserve a chance of life, to the point where they're supposed to be "children of God" (as I've recently had it described to me? Is it at conception? I'm just wondering, because a just conceived zygote couldn't survive birth, and surely at most is a POTENTIAL "child of God"...right? But on that logic, every sperm and every egg are also potential children of God, surely? Does that mean that every sperm and egg that is not fertilised and carried to full term go to Heaven?

If not, then what's the alternative? That the "container" of life, the physical body, begins to be made before it's invested with the spark of life? If so, then surely there should be a logical point before which termination is just getting rid of physical, and not spiritually sacrosanct, cells?

Or is the argument that God takes a personal stake in which sperm and eggs get to become human beings?

Thanks.

Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT)

They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)

Why don't they put their microscopes away for a Million years if they know nothing is going to happen in the way of evolution? Except of course for the microscopes used to develope anti-biotics. Wouldn't it be more logical to use all that money to save the planet than to try and prove a theory that can't be proven for say, another million years?

doesn't it seem odd that nearly every new species of life we find on this planet are usually microscopic organisms. these organisms make up over 99 percent of new lifeforms discover on this planet? whereas larger discoveries, which make up less than one percent appear to be some variation of an animal that already exists with a slight adaptation which allows them to exist in their environment. if we did have a creator, why is he wasting his time making the simplest of lifeforms? when is he going to design something totally new, something that undeniably did not evolve from some other lifeform?

You are an adult. All of your brothers & sisters have moved out of the house. As far as you know, your parents have been happily married your entire life.
One day you are walking downtown, and you happen to see your Mom walking "arm-in-arm" with a man who is not your father. It's obvious by their closeness, that they are romanticly involved.
Just then, your Mom notices you. She runs up to you and says, "Please don't tell your father. It would kill him."

Do you tell your father or not?

if you look up age of consent of marriage in Texas you'll see that a person can get married at 14 and younger with consent, in new hamphire it's 13. And this is allowed now in th 21st century, not 1400 years ago. So do you see why intelligent people never bring up the fact that Muhammad married Aisha at young age, they just feed that propaganda to sheep.

The imminence of severe, debilitating birth defects is often cited as a just reason for abortion; an abortion in such instances is imagined to save the would-be child from a life of suffering. I have two questions about this: 1) If we endorse this reasoning, are we saying that the handicap in question is such that life for the child would literally not be worth living? 2) If (1) is true, does it follow that anyone who endorses this viewpoint should also counsel people who are presently living with such disabilities to kill themselves? (I.e., if a life is not worth beginning, why should it be worth continuing?) -ace

I'm an LDS girl, and very proud of it. But I go to a relatively bad school--there are several kids who do drugs and drink (or at least claim they do), a few kids are in gangs, and most everyone swears and talks about sex. I at least have friends in my Young Women's group, but in school I'm pretty much all alone because I don't want to talk about those things, much less engage in them. Help?

I have seen this asked a lot of times but to me it is important because in Revelation it seems to be what launches us into the last days.

Revelation 18:2 And he cried out with a strong voice, saying: “She has fallen! Babylon the Great has fallen, and she has become a dwelling place of demons and a lurking place of every unclean exhalation and a lurking place of every unclean and hated bird! 3 For because of the wine of the anger of her fornication all the nations have fallen [victim], and the kings of the earth committed fornication with her, and the traveling merchants of the earth became rich due to the power of her shameless luxury.”
4 And I heard another voice out of heaven say: “Get out of her, my people, if YOU do not want to share with her in her sins, and if YOU do not want to receive part of her plagues. 5 For her sins have massed together clear up to heaven, and God has called her acts of injustice to mind. 6 Render to her even as she herself rendered, and do to her twice as much, yes, twice the number of the things she did; in the cup in which she put a mixture put twice as much of the mixture for her. 7 To the extent that she glorified herself and lived in shameless luxury, to that extent give her torment and mourning. For in her heart she keeps saying, ‘I sit a queen, and I am no widow, and I shall never see mourning.’ 8 That is why in one day her plagues will come, death and mourning and famine, and she will be completely burned with fire, because Lord, God, who judged her, is strong.

I mean. they say they have facts when all they have is theories that require faith. I have never seen anything but a chicken come out of a chicken egg. Nobody catches fish that are part some other animal.
Could it be Scientists have more faith in their God (their own minds) then Christians do in the Christian God? How come millions aren't spent researching the testimonies of Christians who got healed? Why are these findings not published when they are positive, except in Christian magazines? It's because as Jesus said the world has an agenda? (if they hate me they will also hate you) and Jesus said the world will hate Christians. Isn't that prophecy being fullfilled all around you on R & S?
