It would be like some kid in Junior high running around making fun of kindergarteners for believing in Santa Clause.

I saw this bumper sticker today that read "God save us... from your followers" LOL. didn't atheists in the past seem to be pretty much impartial to others beliefs? And geeeeeeze, on here?!!! They seem to have as much animosity towards Christians as radical Islam does towards Christianity. Can anyone tell me what has gotten them so pissy? Or is this simply prophecy? The part where masses turn against Jesus as end times near.

It seems that very religious people already have a built-in meaning for their lives that their religion and belief in god provides. While it may be possible, I don't know of any super religious atheists, and it would seem that the "search for meaning" would be harder for them.

This isn't an attack on atheists nor do I doubt that there are atheists that lead fulfilling and happy lives.

I will apologise firstly to the religeous people and I respect your decision to follow one religion or another but it is impossible for me to believe in a god or any particular religion when the evidence of a god is insumountable. I think as mankind evolves we will one day be a religious free society, if religeous extremests don"t destroy the earth first in the name of god.

With the approach of Ramadan I've been thinking about Muslim religious events and how every single one involves nothing but sacrifice, prayer, and (in some cases) self flagellation. I know this is all part of the total submission to Allah, but are there holidays I'm not aware about where Muslims just have fun. You know, watch the soccer game with friends while the kids open presents under the Islam tree, the wives make some Chai egg nogg, and just have fun?

I was raised in a conservative christian family and when i grew up to be 28, i thought that there might be something else, and because i live amongst Muslims in the middle east i starting hating this idea of GOD and ALLAH and ofcourse muslim as god himself does not like them, anyway i thought that the creators might be having fun watching their creations run in a cage, i dont know how big this cage is, but they surely enjoy putting limitations to us, creating dinosaurs and then changing their minds about them, sending viruses and deseases and watching us battel for oil that they want us to discover, it's ironic, maybe they'd send us UFOs one day to make it more exciting for them, maybe we will worship those UFO's, its fun in the end how stupid and pathetic we are, we are effortless, we cant be them or he or she, and we just DIE, thats the worst part of it, if we are racists its because of them creating us with different colors and shapes and enviroments, i dont like this reality.

Atheists pretty much have to, since presidential candidates are almost always Christians. But what about Christians, would you vote for a president if you agreed with all of his policies, but he was not a Christian?

If you rape 54 women in your life, kill 23 men and rob people of their wealth till you cannot anymore and at the end, truly accept Jesus in your life, will you be forgiven?
Isn't the phenomenon of "dying for our sins" the license to sin? You know that he died for ANYTHING you do so "accepting him" is your trump card.
Christianity is a religion of convenience and fantasy.

Exodus 6:20
And Amram took him Jochebed his father's sister to wife; and she bare him Aaron and Moses.
---
Deuteronomy 27:22
Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother.
--
Sounds like the Bible want you to be incestuous and then the authors got confused.
I am amazed at why people still believe this stuff and then claim to be scholars in it... pasting long answers to every question.
WHY would you believe in this fantasy when you would not believe ina science book telling you that there is no gravity?!

The Christian Bible is the only book out of the three major monotheist religions, which has a notorious numebr of versions, some with different number of chapters altogether.
This is obviously an outcome of twisted interpretation and a never-ending disagreement to twirl the truth till you can make it as convenient for your self as possible.
What's your opinion?

Quote:
"Today, in an America filled with adulterers and baby-killers, an even worse sinner casts a shadow over them all—the atheist. Yet atheists are difficult to spot. They hide their sinister cult behind masks of smiles, science and soft, pleasant voices. Your next door neighbor might be an atheist. You just can’t tell".

"Imagine if it was simple to identify atheists and their tainted works. Would it not be grand? Think how much easier it would be to protect your children’s eyes, ears and souls from atheists’ influences if their websites, books, movies and yes, even their very clothes, were clearly labeled with a bright scarlet “A”.

When I read this I was taken aback, and back, to Nazi Germany when Jews were labeled so they could be identified and spat on.
If ever there was any doubt about the deep hatred so-called Christians harbor against non-believers check this site out:

What is everyone's thoughts on this? A senior at a Denver HS mentioned to her class about getting to know Jesus during her Valedictorian speech at their graduation ceremony. She was told unless she writes some sort of apology to the school disctrict, she will not be able to receive her diploma. I understand seperation of church and state is very important, however this doesnt seem to violate, and please correct me if Im wrong. She is a student at that school and holds personal beliefs, just as every other student does. Would she be suspended from school had she mentioned Jesus in the halls inbetween classes too? Does the fact its an assembly change her free speech? The school district seems pretty secure in their assertion that she violated some sort of church/state seperation, so can anyone clue me in on what the violation might be?

Ok christians acccording to your bible god created everything and it says "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good". So going by your book, your god created pot too and so therefore it too should be good.
Your god also is supposed to have said-
- "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food".
So does this mean your god said we should smoke/eat pot? Would you think that it be a sin if we didn't?

If Jesus is God, maybe it means God will come in human form again...not necessarily as Jesus.

He could, for example, come back as a woman. Or as a panda. Wouldn't that be a miracle? Then everyone would know he was God. I mean, David Copperfield can do magic, but who could explain a talking panda?

Seriously, though, does it say he'll come back *as* Jesus? Like, he'll look and sound the same?
