You are most likely referring to the Apochryphal books. The Anglicans aren't the only church that doesn't accept these books. Most Protestant churhes don't accept them. The reason is the Jewish scholars had determined they were not "cannonical" and the only church using them was the Catholic church. They tend to not be consistant with the rest of the Bible and there is a lot of questions as to to the authors of the books.

Most likely they are referring to the Apocrypha or the "Deuterocanonical books" as they are called in the Roman Catholic church:
The deuterocanonical scriptural texts are:
Tobit
Judith
Additions to Esther (Vulgate Esther 10:4-16:24, but see also Esther in the NAB)
Wisdom
Ben Sira, also called Sirach or Ecclesiasticus
Baruch, including the Letter of Jeremiah (Additions to Jeremiah in the Septuagint[2])
Additions to Daniel:
Song of the Three Children (Vulgate Daniel 3:24-90)
Story of Susanna (Vulgate Daniel 13, Septuagint prologue)
The Idol Bel and the Dragon (Vulgate Daniel 14, Septuagint epilogue)
1 Maccabees
2 Maccabees

An Anglican is a member of the Church of England.

Most Anglicans wouldn't know which books of the Bible they are supposed to believe in !
