I was raised in a conservative christian family and when i grew up to be 28, i thought that there might be something else, and because i live amongst Muslims in the middle east i starting hating this idea of GOD and ALLAH and ofcourse muslim as god himself does not like them, anyway i thought that the creators might be having fun watching their creations run in a cage, i dont know how big this cage is, but they surely enjoy putting limitations to us, creating dinosaurs and then changing their minds about them, sending viruses and deseases and watching us battel for oil that they want us to discover, it's ironic, maybe they'd send us UFOs one day to make it more exciting for them, maybe we will worship those UFO's, its fun in the end how stupid and pathetic we are, we are effortless, we cant be them or he or she, and we just DIE, thats the worst part of it, if we are racists its because of them creating us with different colors and shapes and enviroments, i dont like this reality.

Religions have caused more miseries to humans than all the natural calamities put together. Why so?All religions teach us to live with peace, kindness, cooperation, good will, charity and many more noble things, then how come so much conflict, hatred and blood in the name of a religion? You are on the right track and keep on it.Some day you shall feel liberated from mental shackles of all such limiting and narrow ideas. And that would also be the day when you can call yourself a true human being.

So . . . sheesh where to start w/ this one. Are you saying you think "god" sends virus' ? I highly doubt he has internet access as thoughts dont usually have action. Reality is confusing enough, drop the god thing so you have room in there for real issues. Things are created from predecessing things, humans came from apes that came from monkeys that came from bio organisms in the sea . . . same w/ dinosaurs, diseases, and everything else. UFOs came from the same process on a different rock. Theres no guy in a robe w/ saucers on a string passing them through our atmosphere when he gets bored.

God Almighty is above all human attributes.
God Almighty is unique and there is no one sharing with Him any kind of power, or authority.
Since in general man is stronger then female, therefore we also address The God as masculine.
God Almighty loves every one but He Gives indication that only those who submits to the will of God Almighty, and worship only The God alone, and obey God and His Prophets, will go to Junnah (Heavens).
Peace:)

Jews seem to believe God has both sexes... This is because when God created adam in his own image eve was still part of adam. Also they believe eve did not come from adams rib but rather his side. So more or less adam was split in half.
Christians and many other religions believe God is the father (Male)
Aside from all that to answer your question...
You are right, it's crazy. If you read the old testament God and Abraham seem kinda racist to me.
I finally decided to be a person I can look myself in the mirror and respect. When I am on my death bed I want to say I did my best to make this crappy world a better place. As far as God here is a blog I wrote on that topic:
God is the unknown. Anything that can not be explained by Science or common sense. The mysteries of the Universe are God. Yet, everything in the Universe falls into the realm of God. Your fingernail, for instance, is God. You don't call it God because enough information exists about this particular aspect of God there is no need to be so vague.
To Understand God, first you must understand what God is not.
God is not racist, nor does God show favortism. Many people through out time have exploited the concept of God in order to promote their own self interests. In an effort to discover the true nature of God, one must look beyond doctrine and established religions that are swayed by money and politics among others.
To explore God, your motives must be that of exploration. Sounds redundant, but how can you find one thing if you are looking for something else? You might, if you are lucky, stumble across that one thing, but even then you might not recognize it for what it really is. All thought and misconceptions must be cleared and the approach must be that of an opened mind.
The nature of God can only be truely explored on a small cellular level. That is in small groups. Large establishments are hungry and must be fed. Before long the focus is on feeding the large establishment instead of focusing on the nature of God. Also, at times in an effort to salvage an establishment doomed to starvation leaders are apt to give into corruption and in affect the establishment itself becomes corrupt.
On a smaller level individuals can catch small glimpses of what the nature of God really is. Even though this glimpse maybe a minute fraction of the greater whole, it can have a profound impact on the physical world, who is parched for knowledge about it's creator.
Science and religion seem to clash. When I wrote this I was trying to find the things which Science and religion could agree on. In my own mind and beliefs, I can see science and most religions agreeing on these concepts. Many scientist and people of the faith would disagree; however, if reworded and certain terms slightly altered, I feel they would agree. Outside of what I wrote above Science and Spirituality seem to diverge.
Reasons why:
1. Science is limited to human interpretation. Humans are limited to 5 limited senses. That is we can't see all light, hear all sounds, and so on. Also, life outside human perception, in my mind, is so much broader.
2. Spirituality- I believe certain truths about the universe can be found through spirituality. How these truths are interpreted is almost always skewed. Also, most people make up “truths” and claim they have a spiritual origin. In addition, translation can cause false doctrine. Yet, in this world of change, I sometimes wonder if there can be a holy flawless doctrine.
3. There is always the case that Science and or Spirituality could be flawed. To this I say yes and no to both. Pure science is not flawed as pure spirituality is not flawed. Yet, if they were both pure then they wouldn’t be called science or spirituality; instead they both would become one and be called reality. Science has been shown to have weaknesses when big industry and money becomes entwined with it. I have seen rushed college students alter data in order to achieve the desired results in a timely manner. Also, everyone has seen large companies persuade "scientist" to alter or misinterpreted data in the interest of profit or to not get sued. Spirituality can be flawed by similar elements only in a different fashion. Politics have decided many religious arguments. Anytime spirituality is brought into this world of change it too becomes religion and begins changing. Many people become spiritual leaders not for search of truth and reality, but rather for fame, power, or other selfish reasons.

Sorry you are so confused. It must be frustrating! I grew up in a home where little was explained too. No wonder why so many people throw in the towel and quit religion and God all together. But I can tell you one thing, once you know, you'll know forever. Pray and He'll answer you. On His own time so don't be impatient. :)

sometimes i don't like this reality either.
and lol, when you grew up to be 28, that's cute. when i was 26 i finally decided to grow up too.
anyway i do believe in God but my own brother is agnostic. so i am hearing you.
i am 33 and still in my search of who God is, believe me. but the thing i hold onto is that i know He exists and that His word is true. although it is hard to understand because of language and translation. so you really have to study if you want to know. but i believe that if you really want to know God, He will reveal Himself to you. so my advice is to stay humble before Him and don't give up.
as far as God sending us evil, i don't believe He does. evil is a result of sin, and understand that, i do not. but i know that it is not God's will or plan.
just as an aside, i believe it is possible to know God to some extent, but i don't believe it is always possible or necessary to understand Him.

Do Buddhists believe in a creator god?
No, we do not. There are several logical reasons for this. The Buddha, like modern scientists, sociologists and psychologists, believed that religious ideas and especially the god idea have their origins in fear. The Buddha says:
"Gripped by fear men go to sacred mountains, sacred groves, sacred trees and shrines." *Dhammpada 188
Primitive man found himself in a dangerous and hostile world, the fear of wild animals, of not being able to find enough food, of injury or disease, and of natural phenomena like thunder, lightning and volcanoes was constantly with him. Finding no security, he created the idea of god in order to give him comfort in good times, courage in times of danger and consolation when things went wrong. To this day, you will notice that people become more religious at times of crises, you will hear them say that the belief in a god gives them the strength they need to deal with life. You will hear them explain that they believe in god because they prayed in time of need and their prayer was answered. All this seems to support the Buddha’s teaching that the god-idea is a response to fear and frustration. The Buddha taught us to try to understand our fears, to lessen our desires and to calmly and courageously accept the things we cannot change. He replaced fear, not with irrational belief but with rational understanding.
The second reason the Buddha did not believe in a creator god is because there does not seem to be any evidence to support this idea. There are numerous religions, all claiming that they alone have god’s words preserved in their holy book, that they alone understand god’s nature, that their god exists and that the gods of other religions do not. Some claim that god is masculine, some that she is feminine and others that it is neuter. They are all satisfied that there is ample evidence to prove the existence of their god but they laugh in disbelief at the evidence other religions use to prove the existence of another god. It is not surprising that with so many different religions spending so many centuries trying to prove the existence of their gods that still no real, concrete, substantial or irrefutable evidence has been found. Buddhists suspend judgement until such evidence is forthcoming.
The third reason the Buddha did not believe in a creator god is that the belief is not necessary. Some claim that the belief in a god is necessary in order to explain the origin of the universe. But this is not so. Science has very convincingly explained how the universe came into being without having to introduce the god-idea. Some claim that belief in god is necessary to have a happy, meaningful life. Again we can see that this is not so. There are millions of Atheists, free-thinkers and Buddhists, who live useful, happy and meaningful lives without belief in a creator god. Some claim that belief in god’s power is necessary because humans, being weak, do not have the strength to help themselves. Once again, the evidence indicates the opposite. One often hears of people who have overcome great disabilities and handicaps, enormous odds and difficulties through their own inner resources, through their own efforts and without belief in a god. Some claim that god is necessary in order to give man salvation. But this argument only holds good if you accept the theological concept of salvation and Buddhists do not accept such a concept. Based on his own experience, the Buddha saw that each human being had the capacity to purify the mind, develop infinite love and compassion and perfect understanding. He shifted attention from the heavens to the heart and encouraged us to find solutions to our problems through self-understanding.
But if there is no creator god how did the universe get here?
All religions have myths and stories which attempt to answer this question. In ancient times, when man simply did not know, such myths were adequate, but in the 20th century, in the age of physics, astronomy and geology, such myths have been superseded by scientific fact. Science has explained the origin of the universe without recourse to the god-idea.
