I saw this bumper sticker today that read "God save us... from your followers" LOL. didn't atheists in the past seem to be pretty much impartial to others beliefs? And geeeeeeze, on here?!!! They seem to have as much animosity towards Christians as radical Islam does towards Christianity. Can anyone tell me what has gotten them so pissy? Or is this simply prophecy? The part where masses turn against Jesus as end times near.

Oh and another thing, Why do i constantly see atheists, mostly of the gay and lesbian variety, constantly attacking Christianity but never EVER going after Islam? Is it because you know Christians will do nothing to you but Muslims will kill you cold? You do know you will be the first to go in the event islam takes over right? Really tell me, whats the deal?

pffft @ those who have mentioned persecution complex. It's not like my question is opinion oriented, it just is. Atheists have been getting louder and angrier and more bold and full of distain towards christians. Thats fact, not a persecution complex. We dont feel a persecution complex, what we feel is sorry for you because we know whats going to happen to you, and so do you and i think maybe thats what has you so angry. It's not too late ya know, but you have less time than you think.

Many Christians also feel that politicians are mixing politics and religion too often these days. The increase in atheists' frustration levels is due in large part to the fact that the wall of separation between religion and state is under seige as never before.

Because Christians are hating.

Did you know that they took away some of the atheist's rights through the law? Atheists aren't allowed to hold public office in several states.

Response to your additional details:

We do have some disagreements with Islam. It's just that, they have less power and Christianity represent a larger portion of the population both in the United States and the whole world. Still, they have pretty much the same oppressive ideas, but take more violent action when it comes to extremism. It just shows how unaware you are.

"Can anyone tell me what has gotten them so pissy?"

How about the fact that the constitutions of nine states preclude atheists from holding public office and, in some cases, serving on juries? How about the fact that an in-office vice president, later president, chooses to believe that atheists should not be citizens and are not patriots?

How about you take your persecution complex and stick it where the sun don't shine?

Have atheists ever been impartial about being burned at the stake by Christians, hacked to bits by Muslims and insulted and marginalised by all the religious sheep in their turn? You're just hearing more of atheists' recent complaints because atheists of past ages didn't have the Internet.

How do you know that was an Atheist, there are plenty of Christians who likewise are sick of other Christians dictating their lives. Christianity also shows animosity towards Islam, and Islam also have that same prophecy that they will be discriminated against.. Which is the right religion if both prophecies are being fulfilled?

Go figure...

I am an atheist prophet and I must spread the word around the world until everybody believes in what I don"t believe.
Sound familiar.
Oh and if you don"t believe in what I don"t believe then I will form an army of atheists and start a crusade.

You don't know?

Christians 'blaspheme', demonize, revile, spread lies and propaganda and damn me to hell every day of their lives. Not to mention stating that every other concept or discipline of spirituality or faith other than theirs is 'evil'.

And this, with no 'evidence' whatsoever other than a book written by superstitious primitive patriarchs from the Middlle East who bowdlerized just about every pagan myth and rolled their own.

In return I simply argue my point or at least request dialogue.

Oh yeah, and satirize the real far-out religionists.

Who gets the best deal in that setup? I still think you have the upper hand...you call everything that doesn't agree with you 'evil' or 'lost' or 'damned' etc. You've controlled or influenced most everything for 2000 years, killed 'heretics', demonized millions, kept women and blacks in slavery and submission, decimated whole cultures and pirated countless acres from people you calle(d) 'Godless Savages'.

Prophecy of victimhood? Get real. Simply put, this is your schtick:

1. "We are right, and we will demonize you if you don't believe what we believe"

2. "And here's the proof we are right... it says in our book that you will hate us!"

No-one likes a crying bully.

Ever heard the term 'self-fulfilled prophecy?"

I don't 'hate' you, I defend me and mine from religious intolerance. Secular society means that your accusations are now subject to scrutiny, you can't just burn us for disagreeing now.

Fair deal?

EDIT: I "go after Islam" constantly. You just choose to ignore that because it puts a log in your path to exclusive pious victimhood.

Islam is even suckier regarding gay and women's rights. It's one of the areas where you both take a break from threatening the world with your threatening of each other....and join hands to bash gays, atheists, feminists other religions etc.

It's definitely prophecy:

Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
