What do you hope to accomplish in this life and how do you plan to get there? If you believe in it, what goals do you have for your afterlife? I know some will say "Heaven, duh!" lol, but each faith has its own ideas about the afterlife.

For me:
This life - I want to concentrate on my family to make them role models not only for Muslims, but for others all around them. To teach them unconditional respect and tolerance and to seek out knowledge from every crevace they can reach. Of course I will have to be a role model in turn for them, so I'll have to put these qualities into action as well.
Afterlife - I do hope to attain an afterlife in heaven, next to the greatest men and women in earth's history, to enjoy its bounties, and to see how history played out before we began recording it. To bask in the beauty of God and His messengers, and to learn firsthand from them, their accounts on this earth. Of course for that I'll have to utilize the time I have here and remember do my best.

How do you rationalize your belief in a loving god with the God of the Bible that condones/accepts/supports slavery? Don't tell me that he doesn't, I have a long list of Bible verses that say the contrary.

try not to kill eachother. I hold a strict standard of traditional gospel music and hymns. I believe that christian music and the music of a christian should sound different of that of the world. If we have friendship with the world we have emnity with God... ... be ye seperate

Devout Catholics Only Please:
I had a conversation with an aquaintence one day. She was a "party girl'. She was telling me how she went to a Christian college but left because they were too strict. (She was caught living with a boy off campus that violated one of the school rules.)
Surprised, I said, Are you a Christian? She said, "Hell no, I'm a Catholic!
Which made me wonder about her statement.

I read that Catholics do not believe in the teaching of Jesus Christ that a person is "saved by grace." by believing in Jesus is Lord.
Instead, they believe that you have to abide by the twelve sacrements of the Catholic Church to get to heaven.

According to the bible, that is a "works" faith. Trying to gain heaven by the works you do rather than believing in salvation through the grace of Jesus Christ.

SO....If they do not really follow the teachings of Jesus, are they then not really Christians?? Wouldn't they just be worshipers of God? Please help with this.

I work with a guy who is a born again Christian and he is very obnoxious about it. We have a couple of Catholic guys who work with us and he will tell them they are going to hell. Also during the Tsunami in Thailand he said thats what they get for worshiping goats. Plus when New Orleans went through there crisis he said "all I have to say is Sodom and Gomorrah". I know this isn't blowing yourself up extreme but it is making it safe for others to be extreme. For example he has two young children, and so do others like him. That next generation if one of those kids has any religious zealous behavior, then he is prime pickings for extremist behavior and why would he not? His whole life he was taught that this type of belief is virtuous. So to me people like this guy makes it safe for extremist behavior. What do you guys think?

I love Jesus. I have forsaken the path of marriage, and instead devoted my life to Jesus, and spreading his word. Because Jesus would want me to spread my seed, I do engage in premarital sex, yet only to spread future followers all over the world. I'm sure Jesus would agree with me.

But, my friends, as of recent times I have received a lot of back talk. People tell me "You're a fanatic", and "Your views on life are out of line." Really? Am I out of line by saying that Jesus doesn't like women as much as he likes men? (Jesus was a male after all.) Am I out of line for proposing that we force homosexual people to act straight by having every child attend a "Straight Class" in school? Children learn at early ages.

It's just common sense. I would greatly appreciate it if a bunch of people would concur with my notion that these people who oppose me are idiots. If you don't, please don't post. I don't take advice from idiots.

I am also certain that Jesus owns a yahoo answers account.

...then why do so many Christians believe they can tell you whether or not you're going to Hell, and what qualities determines your fate?

And, if you think it's because the Bible justifies this kind of action, why do you take it upon your shoulders to decide someone's eternal destiny anyway?
