Yeah, I've read the Qur'an, and some of the Sufi classics, even going as far as to learn some extremely rudimentary Arabic. I've tried to learn as much as I can about as many different religious traditions as I can.
My impression of Islam is that of a beautiful "mystic" core concealed by all the standard dogmatic accretions. That goes for practically all religions, but especially the "Abrahamic" offshoots. There's a nagging insistence on the letter of the law over the spirit, so to speak.

I read of it in The Religions of Man by Huston Smith. The book is a good look at basic beginnings of five major religions.
Islam was very advanced for its time BUT was tainted by Mohammed's prior beliefs (god male, etc) and the fact he went against his own teachings with the killings he participated in.

I was pretty ignorant about it until the last few decades. I still don't see the point to it, except to bolster the self-esteem of a few desert tribes who were badly in need of direction. You don't need a whole new religion to follow the God of Abraham; even Christianity is just Judaism Part II.

I'm Christian, and I know plenty of things while I believe Islam is wrong, so I never tried reading the Koran (the Islam book). It might be interesting to study other religions, but doubtless to say, Christians should focus on their own faith.

Yes.
I have studied Islam for many years now. Like all religions, its false. Also, its an extremely violent religion however, you really cant appreciate just how violent and intolerant it is until you study its history and doctrines.

Hi Dear..
Reading about Islam will cause you to be placed on the wrong pathway in life.."Jesus is the way the truth and the light..No man can come unto the Father but by him"
Pray:
Father in the name of Jesus forgive me of all of my sins..Lead and guide me to your will for my life..I accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour over my life..In Jesus name I pray to you..amen and amen...
