Mostly disturbing because the guy who said "I tell them to go to goisimaginary.com. I guarantee that they will something something and not believe in him or whatever." Well I did and I still believe. OMG. And this girl who said "I find it very entertainig...when they say hallelujah praise the lord i laugh." Atheists what is your problem and why do you think Christians are funny because you think theyre stupid?

Ignorance is bliss, I suppose.

People on both... well all... side do this (there are more than just 2 sides to this). I have seen Christians talk about how stupid Atheists and other Non-Christians are. It's easy to generalize in here, especially when you have so many that do it in here. I have seen some very respectful Atheists as well as respectful Christians... It's always those with the big mouths that ruin it for the whole group though. And I have to say, I don't see how one can claim intelligence when all they are really doing is running around, pointing their finger and saying "you're stupid/delusional/etc" THAT is NOT intelligence. Poking fun at people beliefs is not intelligent. Knocking people down is not intelligent. These things do not make life better for anyone else... and it always seems those who claim to be trying to make life better, do these things more often than anyone else.

You guys are not all stupid, there are some intelligent Christians. They're just not very common is all. I find it funny in a sad kind of way that there are so many blatantly obvious facts about your beliefs that you just gloss over. Like the whole no proof thing, the other completely different belief systems which are rejected but for which there is just as little evidence and the so very animalistic nature of human beings but the fact that we are animals is a complete contradiction of your beliefs.

I haven't got a problem with Christians, I have a problem with Christians who answer or ask a question using scripture (see link). To me it shows a lack of thought or opinion, which to me makes any "religion" far from funny. When people blindly follow a belief and don't show any sign of independent thought, it means that the Religion or for that matter Cult can manipulate the teachings and therefore the people that follow.

Why can't Christians leave us alone?
Why is there such a problem with our capacity for abstract thinking?
I see where this is going.
I may as well sit back and see where this conflict between the two go.....
or I will just make a cup of tea and go to bed.

That question disturbed me too. At least one person from each religion on here thinks they are so much better than everyone. I really like the way you worded this, too.

What also bothers me is that that website talks about jesus. But not everyone who believes in God believes the whole story about jesus! I'm so sick of people just seeing in black and white!

"Proof #1 - Try praying"
Interprets Jesus' words from a high context society by low context standards. Rather than attempt to list every possible exception, a high context message only intends to relay the basic meaning. For example, a contract would be a low context document, a "speed limit" sign would be high context (no one questions the right of emergence vehicles to go faster than the posted speed limit, as they are an unnamed exception).

"Proof #2 - Statistically analyze prayer"
Assumes we can manipulate God somehow.

"roof #3 - Look at historical gods"
Note the total absence to any citation to the original myths that Christians are alleged to have copied, just the typical arguments from assertion that atheists (among others) use to claim these similarities exist.

"Proof #4 - Think about science"
"Only by assuming that God is imaginary and prayer is meaningless can science proceed." Which is why all scientists assume that God is imaginary? You mean they don't?

"Proof #5 - Read the Bible"
I have. Still a Christian.

"Proof #6 - Ponder God's Plan"
"If God has a divine plan for each of us, then he had a divine plan for Hitler too."
God also gave us free will, so we don't necessarily follow what God's plan for us.

"Proof #7 - Understanding religious delusion"
Recycles arguments used in "'Proof' 5" and "'Proof' 6".

"Proof #8 - Think about Near Death Experiences"
"Is this a direct proof that God is imaginary? No."
They're supposed to be proving that God is imaginary, not "the NDE (which many people use as 'indisputable' proof that God and eternal life exist) has no supernatural meaning."
"What is not mentioned is that there is a drug called Ketamine that produces all of the elements of an NDE when it is injected into normal, non-dying people."
Let me know when Ketamine can produce the effect of someone seeing "a man’s dark blue tennis shoe, well-worn, scuffed on the left side where the little toe would go. The shoelace was caught under the heel".

"Proof #9 - Understand ambiguity"
Rehash of "'Proof' 1".

"Proof #10 - Watch the offering plate"
Another rehash of "'Proof' 1". And just because God could do something in a certain way doesn't mean He doesn't have a good reason for not doing it that way.

"Proof #11 - Notice that there is no scientific evidence"
Since God isn't physical, what physical evidence would they be expecting?

"Proof #12 - See the magic"
Rehash of several other 'Proofs'.

"Proof #13 - Take a look at slavery"
"There is no way that a loving God would allow himself to be perceived as condoning and encouraging slavery like this."
"Overall, all the admonitions are targeted toward the slave owners. In other words, slavery in this day was inevitable, so let's make sure that there are specific protections in place to keep any abuse to a minimum.... [A]lthough the Bible gives certain guidelines for treating slaves, that doesn't necessarily mean the Bible condones slavery"

"Proof #14 - Examine Jesus' miracles"
"Imagine that someone, today, were to come up to you and say, 'I am God, and I will prove that I am God by healing the sick and turning water into wine!'"
Which is exactly what Jesus did.
"Neither of these miracles can be scientifically tested today. Not one of Jesus' miracles left any tangible evidence for scientists to study."
Except we have eyewitness accounts from reliable sources that they happened.

"Proof #15 - Examine Jesus' resurrection"
"Obviously Paul benefitted from a personal meeting with the resurrected Christ."
First, how does the author know that everyone would benefit from such a meeting? The bible would seem to indicate otherwise. For example, even though Cain had several discussions with God, he still chose to go out of His presence. Second, since Paul passed on the benefits of this meeting, then there wouldn't be any need for Jesus to appear to everyone.

"So... one minute we have God carving into stone, 'Thou shalt not kill.' Then the next minute we have God telling each man to strap a sword to his side and lay waste to thousands."
Or maybe the word used for "kill" doesn't have any exact English equivalents and "kill" is used simply as the word closest to such a meaning"
"tor·ture: Infliction of severe physical pain as a means of punishment or coercion."
Oddly enough, "torture" also has the following meaning: "the act of distorting something so it seems to mean something it was not intended to mean". Which accurately describes using "torture" to describe what happened to Eve.
"A place of unquenchable fire is, obviously, a place or torture."
Unless the fire is figurative and not literal.

"Proof #17 - Think about Leprechauns"
"If you think about it, you will realize that there is no difference between God and Leprechauns."
Sure there is. God is a reasonable explanation for the existence of reality, Leprechauns are not, as they are part of the material world.
"For example, X rays are invisible, but we know that they exist. We can devise scientific experiments to prove that they exist. Then, once proven to exist, X-rays can be used predictably in all sorts of beneficial ways."
X-rays, however, are material, while God is spiritual.

"Proof #18 - Imagine heaven"
Basically an argument from ridicule. "Isn't it silly for Christians to believe in heaven?" isn't really an argument.
"There is also the absurdity that comes when you compare any two people's views of heaven."
Multiple contradictory views about an object only means that all such views cannot be `correct. While it is possible that all such views are incorrect, it is not necessarily so.
