why aren't Islam bashers answering my question?

Question

if you look up age of consent of marriage in Texas you'll see that a person can get married at 14 and younger with consent, in new hamphire it's 13. And this is allowed now in th 21st century, not 1400 years ago. So do you see why intelligent people never bring up the fact that Muhammad married Aisha at young age, they just feed that propaganda to sheep.

Lol, it is propoganda, because when they're suggesting Muhammad (saws) is a pedophile for marrying a girl that even scholars can't determine her true age at the time of her engagement (between 9 and 20 something...you see which one they prefer to go with...), they neglect the fact that their great grandparents or perhaps even their grandparents are guilty of the same.

It's only recently that people considered waiting to marry off their children until they reach full adulthood and then some. For the entire history of the human species, when a girl began her menses, she was marriage material (or just a plaything before marriage was established). It is estimated that Mary (ra) was 12 when she gave birth to Jesus (saws).

And then people forget to consider that 9 and 12 year olds back then were extremely mature considering our 9 and 12 year olds today. They were expected to be able to run a household and take care of a family by the time they reached puberety, so that is how they were raised. Today it's a struggle to get an 18 year old to hold any type of responsibility, lol!

We think that the things we do today are right and the past was wrong, but it had to mean something if it took all these thousands (if not millions) of years to turn a teenager into a child who can't do anything for him/herself. Besides, it's not as if they're not out having sex on their own. God forbid a 16 year old get married, but to get pregnant and become a single mother is just life, lol!

Hypocrisy is a bold characteristic of those who claim Muhammad (saws) was a pedophile, you can't miss it. It's like the Hollywood sign, lol!

Personally, I would not have my daughter marry at 9-whatever for the fact that just because someone wants to get their jollies off on a little girl is sickening.
They don't need to be thinking of sex at that age.
Maybe that is why men think Muslim women have used it to thier advantage and manipulating men into what they want.
I seen several posts on here from Muslim Men saying that Muslim women do this. So I am not pulling it out of my back pocket.
I am not bashing you or any one else its just something I notice from the outside looking in. I respect you as a fellow Human being. I don't answer alot of Muslim questions and make remarks I know nothing about.

Just because those states allow Children to marry that young Does not make it right. Maturity helps in a marriage.
I married at 19 I didn't complete school and now I have kids and no me time to finish my education.
I think marrying that young(9-teen) would bring on regrets.
I agree kids were more mature back then BUT we are in the Now. They need to focus on education and learn responsibility in a good enviroment at Home and The Community.

I am not particularly a Muslim Basher, but since you're not getting any asnwers.

I suspect these are very old laws, for one thing. Just like its illegal to wash a cat on Saturday in Cheyenne. It doesn't mean that this is part of a moral code we currently hold to.

I've never heard of a 13 or 14 year old getting married. I have heard of someone as young as 16 getting married, but that was one of my grandmothers friends and about 60 years ago.

Also, I think we can all agree that there is a different between a teenager and a 9-year-old.

The 9-year-old marriage thing has not been something that bothered me about Islam. Not because I support that - it's just, in my mind, Islam has bigger issues. That's just coming from reading the Qu'ran myself though.

Thanks for bringing this up! There is far too much ignorance going around about Islam, especially in a post-9/11 world, where someone just had to get blamed. Whenever someone asks a question about Aisha, I always make it clear that the prophet did not touch her until she was a woman--a 100% developed woman. I guess these bashers got stuck and drowned in their own ignorance and hate.

Mores and practices of ancient cultures were far different from our cultures today. Super-imposing today's standards on people of the past is ridiculous. In the past, puberty was the age for marriage. Children vary in the ages they reach puberty. Until modern day Chinese married even babies. Families sometimes even promised unborn children to other families in marriage, and not for the distant future either. Girls were sent to their husband's house as soon as they were weaned to be "properly" raised by his family. Arab culture was hardly unique in this respect. Besides, Umayyad Abu-Bakr apparently had plans for his precocious child in his secret war against the Banu-Hashemite Ali.

9 years old is a little too young. But the point is that it is one thing for a secular law to say that the minimum age is of a certain age and another thing that God mandates the minimum age and calls it good.

Muhammad married Aisha at the age of 6 and had sex with her when she turned 9. She was still playing with her dolls. Is this person the right guy to be a prophet of God? It is one thing for a lunatic to get away with this, but don't you find it weird for a prophet of God to do this? What's worst is that God APPROVES this kind of behavoir!
