Your answers suggest that not everyone would be a spiritual being. What's the point of any of us being a physical being? If we were all made as spiritual beings to begin with, no one would be in the physical world for you to have to interact with.

Why does there have to be a physical world? And why do we have to start out in it before we move on to the spiritual world for the rest of eternity?

I just received a lovely little gem :) What could possibly be served by spouting such hatefulness and anger? It surely can't be healthy for the spirit.

"From: Chosen by Grace

Subject: STOP HATING WHOEVER DISAGREES WITH YOU BIGOT

Message: Athée StarChildVT: edit: a lot of hate coming from this person who's been "chosen by grace"...

1. Hatred of slander and lies against the truth.

2. What is your evidence that hatred is evil in and of itself? If it is, you are all evil for hating me and insulting me.

3. Why didn't you say "edit: a lot of hate coming from Timothy Sitts" or anyone else who insults a Christian? Stop being a hateful biased self-righteous hypocritical bigot."

The thing that sent this person into a frenzy was a comment I made about his attacks over people's choices in spending/donating 60 billion dollars. Oh, and for good measure, I've been blocked. Thank you, "chosen by grace", for your excellent lesson in love and compassion. :)

I am an Evangelical Christian who studies the Bible. One of the interesting prophetic characters in the Bible is the Whore of Babylon. Who do you think she is? What do you think she is?
I know what I think the answer is, but I would like to see what others think.

Or are the willfully ignorant about reality?
Anyone who would ignore the mountains of evidence and peer-reviewed research done by thousands of Scientists the world over, is either totally brain washed, or has been thoroughly brainwashed.
These are people that ignore science and instead cling to myths and fairy tales. How pathetic is that?

What made you choose which religion to follow? Was it just your upbringing or did you actually study other religions before deciding?

NOTE: Don't answer if you're just going to insult Christianity or say that Christians are arrogant/intolerant.

So most hotels and motels here in America have bibles in every room but why don't you ever find the holy books of other religions like the Torah or the Qauran?

Many atheists explain that atheism is not a religion but more of a philosophical framework, therefore it seems to make sense that they would enjoy conversations in the Arts & Humanities > Philosophy category. Yet so many prefer to chat in Religion & Spirituality. Is it because atheists consider themselves to be "spiritual" in some sense. If this is true, please explain how this is possible. Thanks in advance for your time.

if you are going to say that i am hurting my spirit please answer why am i hurting it.
and "because god says so" is such a good answer as saying nothing.
since you claim to have a solid moral code i just want to know the reason behind the moral code, morals cannot be imposed, so everyone must know why somethin is inmoral and this reason is beyond: "because someone told me so".
